I recently tried out a Blackheart Handsome Devil Combo. The darned thing sounds really good (for the price), looks pretty cool, is all tube, and appears to be solidly made. It's switchable from 7 to 15 watts so it makes a great little practice amp that you can drive the heck out of and not blow out your windows. I liked it so much that I bought one. If you're in the market for a smallish amp at a reasonable price, give them a test drive.

Yep and the VHT Special 6 is a pretty sweet ride too and it's hand wired and really inexpensive.

I did and it's actually pretty cool. Way better than Champion 600 or a Vibro Champ XD.

Fender is still falling into the trap of charging for the "name", even if the product doesn't quite warrant it. The Champion 600 could have been SOOO much better than it is.

I agree. So could the Hot Rod and VM Series. It's a shame trading the classic Fender tone for sheer profits and kazoo tone.
