It's terrible. Red economics are what has destryed this country and with the right getting further and further regressive, it is going to be terrible. Too many don't understand that we are in the early stages of a post-scarcity econmy and the old ways are incredibly obsolete.

This is an almost worst case scenario...

As I Just said in another topic Bushs biggest deffasit spending was 100 billion obamas is 1 trillion. Also Obama spends as much in a month as bush did every year. He's also added 5trillion to our debt, already.
I do agree though that allot of republicans did help worsen the debt. But I hope your not blaming bush for that.
As one Republican said ( i cant remember who) "we need to consider this as a second chance."
Anyway glad that we have a new speaker of the house thats good news for any tax payer, and the economy.

Really? like the time back in 2003 Barney Frank and his posse opposed the attempt by the GOP to increase oversight of Freddie and Fannie due to all the BS going there. That really did the American people a lot of good with respect to the housing market.

Where did you get this whopper from..fox news? The republicans controlled both houses of congress at the time and controlled the executive branch of government. If republicans wanted to increase oversight of freddie and fannie all they had to do is pass a bill and the president signs it and it becomes law. Cute of you to try and blame this on barney frank and democrats when they did not control the legislature or the executive branch of government.

Republicans did have the majority in 03' yes. But it was a small margin. Only a couple of seats i believe. Dems voted completely down the line against the proposed bill(s), it was not fillibuster proof and all it took was a couple of GOP members to disagree. Frank was chairman of the House Financial Services committee and was receiving quite a bit of money from F&F. hmmm was he perhaps trying to protect something? and then there's of course Franklin Raines... ahhh good old Franklin Raines but that's a whole other discussion.

You are right the Republicans had a slim majority in the house and the senate. However, if they really wanted the legislation they should have kept pushing it.

They did... in order to be fillibuster proof you need 60 votes. A party line vote plus a few progressive republicans can make that real difficult. I guess the Dems were the "party of no" at that time.

You can watch it in video so it don't LIE
Bush warnings started in 2001 and in 2003 Frank and Chuck Shumer block all oversight. In fact Barney Frank wanted to push for more low income, high risk loans saying they were not doing enough. Watch the video were he says all this in 2003 at congressional hearing to block oversight. Treasury Secretary Snow wanted such oversight. Can't blame Bush for that one.

Yeah... I'm just sad that the politicians used Billions of dollars that they could have used for helping people out. I just say let's make a reformed government. I've been around politicians enough to know that they're almost all simply power hungry individuals anyway...

Wouldn't that be saying "God curse everyone else"?
I don't think God will bless America any more than the next country.

:?: Not at all. A prayer for a blessing is not a curse on anyone else. Of course you know the difference. :P
