I was born and raised in the SF Bay Area. And right after Dusty Baker mis-managed World Series game 6 back in 2002, I thought to myself that the Giants probably just missed their opportunity to get a World Series title with Barry Bonds. And I was right. Any one remember the Anaheim Angels' "rally monkey"??? But what I never thought would happen is that Giants GM Brian Sapien would eventually put together a deadly pitching staff that would win the title eight years later.

Unless you are from the Bay Area, you likely do not get how truly BIG this is. The San Francisco Giants have never won a World Series ... until now. Fear the beard ...

They use goalie masks now though.

Hum Baby! Good to see them win it all finally. I didn't think they were ever going to won one. For a long time there they were signing players at the end of their careers and only keeping them for a season or 2.

The Giants are my team. I was born in San Jose and lived there 23 years before moving to Phoenix.
Wish they would of won it in 89, that was favorite squad.

I still go see them during spring training and when they play the diamondbacks.

I remember those days well ... Roger Craig, Candy Maldonado, Jeffrey Leonard, Mike Krukow, Will "the thrill" Clark, Kevin Mitchell, Jose Uribe ... ahhhh, the good ol' days.

I was glad SF won...met Freddy Sanchez when he was a bucco. Really nice man with a big heart. I'm happy for him and SF fans.

I waited 22 years for the Giants to win the Series, kinda wish they could have won a Series when Will Clark was there since he's my favorite baseball player and with Barry Bonds since it is Barry Bonds lol
