What do you guys think, Do you like this post everyday or is this a thread that you are tired of seeing and want it to die ?

1969 - David Bowie's ``Space Oddity'' album is released.

1998 - Western harmony group Riders in the Sky use their Grand Ole Opry appearance to pay tribute to the late Roy Rogers. Ranger Doug, Woody Paul and Joey the Cowpolka King play softly in the background during a spoken tribute delivered by Too Slim. "Even the horse knew he was the King of the Cowboys. Long live the King," Slim says.

2005 - Luther Vandross are dies at John F. Kennedy Medical Center in Edison, N.J., two years after suffering a serious stroke. He is 54.

1954 - Elvis Presley signs his first recording contract (Sun Records) and quits his job as a truck driver.

1962 - The Rolling Stones make their performing debut at the Marquee Club in London.

1969 - Blind Faith makes its live debut in the United States at Madison Square Garden in New York.

1992 - Police arrest Guns N' Roses lead singer Axl Rose at New York's Kennedy Airport on charges related to a 1991 incident at a concert in St. Louis. The singer is said to have started a melee by diving into a crowd during the Guns N' Roses concert.

2000 - Yusuf Islam, born Stephen Georgiou and formerly known by his stage name Cat Stevens denies that he has in the past supported militant Islamic group Hamas. Islam was denied entry into Israel because he allegedly gave money to Hamas during his last visit to the country in 1998.

2005 - Veteran rock group INXS emerges from the land down under with a new record deal and a very public search for a new singer. The band launches their reality show, "Rock Star: INXS," to replace late frontman Michael Hutchence, who committed suicide in 1997.

2006 - Even in death, Johnny Cash is still mighty enough to top The Billboard 200. "American V: A Hundred Highways" earns the Man in Black his first No. 1 album since 1969's "Johnny Cash at San Quentin" with 88,000 copies sold in the United States, according to Nielsen Soundscan.

2004 - New York Dolls bassist Arthur Kane dies in Los Angeles due to complications from leukemia. He is 55.

1973 - No. 1 Billboard Pop Hit: "Bad Bad Leroy Brown," Jim Croce.

1976 - The Allman Brothers Band splits up.

1983 - No. 1 Billboard Pop Hit: "Every Breath You Take," The Police. It tops the pop chart for eight weeks. Billboard ranks the million-selling single the top song of the year.

Chas was a very good bass player before moving into management. He played with Eric Burdon in the Animals. I know you have heard their arrangement of House of the Rising Sun.

2003 - Barry White, the R&B crooner renowned for his deep, erotic baritone, dies at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he had been undergoing dialysis after suffering a stroke in May. He is 58.
