Today was NGD for me; the ES-335 was delivered. It's a 2006 in Pelham Blue with factory-installed Bigsby and diamond holes, like the Dave Grohl and Trini Lopez 335s, but with a normal Gibson headstock. It looks brand new and sounds wonderful, acoustically full even when not plugged in.

For those who have seen ES-335s and CS 336s but not together, here is a photo showing how different in size and similar in shape they are. They are also similar acoustically. The Les Paul is similar in size to the 336, which might have been produced when the 335 and the LP hooked up in a dark alley somewhere (and no protection was used!)

What a beauty-the diamond "F" holes really set it off and give it a unique look like it was a Custom Shop or special order.Pelham Blue is one of Gibson's most striking colours also so all that combined gives you an exquisite instrument.BTW I had no idea that the 336 was so much smaller than the 335 as I had never seen them side by side-thanks for posting the pix.

I did some research and found out it is an ES-335 Diamond Limited, made in 2006 and 2007 only. It was available in Pelham Blue, Pearl White, and Black Pearl, with the Bigsby or stop tail. The blue came with chrome hardware, the others with gold hardware.
I emailed Gibson about the numbers of the run and hopeflly will hear back from then before the decade is over.

Hi mclmk8d: your Gibson is bigger than my Gibson! Never mind, I can cope. :D

I seriously love that color. Too cool.

I also like the color of the 336 - very nice. Oh heck: OK, I like the colors of ALL your guitars!

Congrats - C
