i think i may have found something equally as bad as the firebird x, and again it comes from Gibson.

http://www2.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/Flying-V/Epiphone/Jeff-Waters-Annihilation-V.aspx

It reminds me some what of the cheap crappy epiphone v's you used to get in starter packs when I was a kid. That was a while ago by the way

Its "Angelim Rajado (Brazilian Marblewood)" which is probably very expensive, and therefore superior to plain old maple and rosewood.

The knobs don't even match, it looks like Wayne Coyne's nightmare.

Gibson's atrocious styling cues have also spilled over into Epiphone with the Zak Wylde Graveyard Disciple, his Bullseye and other assorted refuse. If they spent half the money they waste developing monstrosities and put it into quality control they might just get their reputation for quality products back again after a time. The way things are going they're turning out more duds than viable products and some of their artist models are so exhorbitantly expensive that even people who could afford them would realize that they're way over-priced.

Gibson keeps flushing their proven products down the toliet for gimmick products that have no useful longterm features. They started to come out with a 50's Tribute Les Paul that was great guitar for the money. Their flood prevented the guitar from hitting the market, now they discontinued it in favor for this guitar?! Wow, maybe Fender should buy them because at this rate, they won't be around much longer.

Ugh, it sounds awful.

Will anybody actually buy this pile of junk?

The Nighthawk and the Firebird were/are the only two Gibson guitars that I could see myself owning.

I could see myself playing this guitar if, well, it were an actual guitar. Strip all of the superficial electronic bullshit out of it, throw a real finish on it, and you have a really cool, quirky oddball of a guitar that you know you wouldn't see many people using. I actually dig the body shape.

I may be late for the party but something tells me that those employees are gonna be awful worried if Gibson starts to plummet after this guitar.
Henry J doesn't seem to have a good reputation with anyone.
I mean, if people who don't own a Gibson are sympathetic for the Gibson marque and it's employees..... something's gotta be up with someone.
Makes you wonder if the president of the company even likes his company.
Sheeesh.

I think he's purposely trying to drive the company into the ground, maybe to get a better price for friends planning on buying it out.

That video was a camera phone recording. I don't doubt that the thing sounds good. When you have it hooked up to a Nasa launch tower.

My only real gripe with the thing is that it is nothing more than a complete rehash of previously failed ideas. They've blatantly stole ideas that didn't work years ago and are claiming them to be their new idea.
How crazy is it to repeat procedure and expect different results? Very crazy.

I agree with the poster about the Blueshawk and Nighthawk. Great guitars. If they'd kept em in the catalogue long enough for people to get used to em, they'd be classics now. On a par with their other big sellers.

Then you'd just have a firebird. Simple, cool, and worth buying.
