has anybody else sen th movie"standing in the shadow of motown"?

i finally saw it the other day- and wow

a great documentary on motown hit making.

i grew up an hour south of detroit in the 60's. motown is still among my favorite music. i had no idea that there was one group of musicians playing on all those great songs.

i guess it's like our version of the "wrecking crew."

Anyone who was alive listening to "top 40" radio back then has to admit that Motown ruled the airwaves.
"Classic radio" stations nowadays,don't understand that.
BTW,on that film an old guy picks up a tambourine and shakes out a totally funky rhythm with it....I didn't know it could sound that way,at least with anybody I ever saw.

Love that flick - - have the DVD and watch it several times a year. Joe Messina, Jamerson, Hunter, White, Willis, Earl Van Dyle, Brown, Papa Zita, Paul Riser and the others that created the foundation for so many Motown #1 hit records.
