You wouldn't believe how difficult it is to find a picture of the REAL "Number One" guitar that Stevie Ray Vaughan played.

I'm doing this art project (where I'm making a SRV album cover) and I was trying to find a good picture of the guitar just by itself.

So if any of you could find a picture of the REAL, ORIGINAL (not a replica!) Number One that SRV played, then I would be very grateful!

Just post the link or the picture itself!

Thanks! :)

That top picture is a much healthier SRV. Thank God he straightened his act up before he passed on.

The '59(really not that year, or so I've read) is too cool.

Thanks for the pictures :) , but I was looking more for pictures that had only the guitar (without Stevie)...

I went ahead and am using the one that mclmk8d put up. I came across it on my own earlier and thought it might work the same purpose...

But still, isn't it ridiculous how hard it is to find a close up shot of "Number One" all by itself??

There are some pictures of just #1 in the liner notes of several SRV albums. I can't remember exactly which ones though.

Remember when Guitar For The Practicing Musician used to have centerfolds of famous guitars? I have the one with #1, I'd scan it but it's framed and on display in my music room.

i remember when stevie died one of the guitar mags ran a pic of a very dark stage, #1 was in the middle with a spot light on it, and stevies hat resting on the headstock. under the guitar it said
"RIP stevie ray vaughn".

Yeah I think I've seen that pic, not in a mag though, just online. I didn't know the story behind it, I thought it was just a promo shot.

My fav SRV pic is the black & white one where it's a shot of him from behind and he has #1 behind his back and she's looking down.

Have been looking for that one for a long time. My first thought when I saw it was "I have to frame that", put the mag down somewhere for safe keeping and haven't seen it since, so I guess it's still safe?
