this can be done easily, but it's not permanent and CAN leave the finish sticky if not buffed sufficiently....
buff lightly with a soft cotton cloth impregnated with old fashioned "bar wax" (the wax used on bowling alley lanes)
then buff vigorously with a clean cotton cloth.

repeat until desired shine is achieved,

I have a Les Paul Standard Faded that had a flat finish when I got it. I did some research and ended up buying Virtuoso Cleaner and Virtuoso Polish. I put around 4 coats of the cleaner on and then 6 coats of the polish. It now has a beautiful soft satin sheen to it. I did the whole process by hand, but I've seen photos where they get even shinier with polishing by machine like a variable-speed drill and buffing bonnet.
Here is a link to one of the threads that i followed; Mine came out very similar to his.

Here's mine (on the left) next to my CS-336 with a normal Nitro finish

Both guitars are beauties and the bookmatching is somethiing else-you really can't tell in your signature picture.

Nevin, make it 7 bags and a 1968 Marshall Plexi, and you have a deal!
