Two to avoid, really. Watched em this week on someone else's recommendation.

Deadgirl.
Bit of a sick zombie film without the scares. Content is too explicit for kids, scares are not enough for anyone over the age of 12.

The Human Centipede.
Story of a mad scientist (very loosely based on the nazi experiments at Auschwitz). More horrific than a horror. Absolute waste of time that left me feeling like I needed a good shower after watching it.
Very much a directors indulgance in my view. Storyline is very same old same old. Acting varies between appalling and good.

Avoid em, their rubbish.

The Manitou circa 1974 starring of all people Tony Curtis but it's a real thriller/chiller some scenes in it take you completely by surprise and really creep you out-a masterful work of horror.I also have a 12 disc set called Horror Classics that contains 50 of the best old horror flicks like the silent classics from the early 1900's Metropolis and Nosferatu up to Attack of the Giant Leeches,Dr.Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde,The Hunchback of Notre Dame,The Little Shop Of Horrors,The Night of the Living Dead and dozens of other old nuggets. It is released by Mill Creek Entertainment www.millcreekent.com it's a fantastic set for the horror buff and only costs $25-$30.

Ah I dunno I thought it was a ok film with some good tense moments.
I did think the ending was terrible though. I saw the 1st screening of it where the guy goes down stairs gets stabbed and the cop shoots the gal.

Y'know whats great about halloween. Nov 1st is only a few hours away, all saints day.

You know whats funny I grew up on horror movies during the late 80's and early 90's and then stopped watching them. From time to time I catch them. But My favorite is Blair witch Project. I just loved the originality, the way they left everything to your imagination. but traditional wise I really liked the halloween remake that rob zombie did. Phenomenal.... The way they dug into the psychological aspect...

For me it's an easy one. Halloween, the first one. The rest were crap. Also The Birds by Hitchcock.

All of the Hitchcock movies. The suspense buildup was always amazing. I also loved the fact that Alfred always had a cameo.

Having said that, Night of the Living Dead was pretty good when I first saw it at the drive-in. My girlfriend needed SO much comforting!

Personally, I like anything with zombies in it. Good, bad, or mediocre, I just wanna see zombies, zombies, and more zombies!

Although it isn't a zombie movie, I too am a Rocky Horror Picture Show Fan. It is one of my favorite movies. I have probably seen it 100+ times

I remember the thread from last Halloween , I posted "Abbott and Costello meets Frankenstein" as a favorite, the same question I remember from that thread was if a science fiction movie is scary is that movie a horror movie? As a kid I was scared by all of the oldies, Frankenstein, The Wolfman, Dracula, King Kong, I'll stop there because the list could get way too long. Here is one of the first science fiction movies that really scared me:

This youtube channel has a bunch of old sci-fi movie trailers
