Who would have thought at the beginning of the season we be having the Rangers and Giants in the World Series.

I'm a Yankee fan but I knew all along that realistically, the Rangers (this year) were the best. They deserve it and good luck to them.

I was sure though, it would be the Rangers against the Phillies. It just goes to show you like Yogi says, "It ain't over 'till its over!"

I can't really pull against either team, both of them have players that I like. My instincts tell me the Rangers win it in 6 or 7 though, they just seem to have it all clicking right now and San Fran is a great team but their offense can go cold at times. Either way I look forward to a great series!

As a Yankees fan, it was hard for me to watch my team just go down in a meltdown. At least Boston didn't get in.

SF v TX can't be a ratings bonanza for FOX. And it means late games for us in the eastern U.S.

SOAPBOX: MLB wants to add another round of playoffs. I say the season is too long already. Cut back the number of reg season games, go back to 4 divisions, dump the wild card, and roll back interleague play to a few games between natural rivals (the novelty has worn off at least for me). If the World Series goes 7 games, three of them are scheduled for November!! OK, I'm done.

Don't matter who's playing, can't watch the games anyway because of Cabelvision and Fox bickering. Fox is not even broadcasting over the air here on Long Island.

I'm a Giants fan so I'd love for the Giants to win the World Series. HOWEVER as a fan of the sport of Baseball I'd love to see the Rangers win the World Series because it would be a first for them.

As far the playoff format my thinking is this:

Top 4 teams (East, West, Central, Wild Card) in each league.

1 Game, 2 winners go on to League Championship Series

1 Game, Winner goes on to World Series

1 Game, Winner is World Champion.

This would make it more of a challenge. Play your best game or go home.

Interesting plan! I wonder if baseball could ever create a Super Bowl-like aura with a one-and-done World Series. Well, I guess it wouldn't be a series then. If the season ends any later, they may have to resort to using neutral sites with warm weather and/or a domed stadium.

The trouble with our playoff plans is neither generates more money for MLB. In this new round of playoffs they should make the teams wear green uniforms with dollars signs on their caps.

OK, who wins the WS? I don't know. I don't prefer one over the other at this point.

I know for sure that format would make for some intense games, but MLB would lose tons of money without all the playoff games.

What's you're thoughts on the NFL owners wanting to add two games to the football season? I say get rid of a couple pre-season games to make that work

NY Daily News reported a few days ago that the city estimates the Yankees bring in around $12 million bucks for every playoff game, for the city, and that number jumps to nearly 20 million for WS games!

Congratulations to both teams, and I see Rangers in 7. I'm a Twins fan so we were out of it early.

That is the match up I thought, Rangers & Phillies but glad to see the Giants in there.
