Try this one...
If you are traveling in a vehicle capable of velocities faster than the speed of light, what would happen when you turned on your headlamps?

Your headlamps would shed the light backwards and the drivers/pilots of other space vehicles would think they are going in the wrong direction. Space police will write you a ticket for:
1. Careless driving for going reverse on the spaceway.
2. Going faster than the speed of light speed limit.
3. Talking on the space phone while flying(driving).
4. No headlights.

And that folks was the canuck humor for ya

Or, would you see them in your own rear view mirror?

I read sometime ago that if the Big Bang produced enough matter, the expansion will go on indefinitely, creating along the way its own succession of possibilities, and the universe will have a sphere like shape, constantly renewed by its play of creation and destruction. But if the total matter was insufficient, the universe will be shaped like a horse saddle and will eventually reverse into a Big Crush. One theory that I like states that, lacking matter, the universe collapse back into a big crush creating another Big Bang. In fact an endless succession of Big Bangs. Like a pulse in the fractal continuum. If so, how can we speak of ONE universe then?

As light's speed is constant it wouldn't matter from which viewpoint you had you would still be seeing the other 1 year previous. As for the light from the sun taking over 8 minutes and the reflected sunlight from the moon taking only little over 1 second the answer is simple the sun is 93 million miles away and with reflected light travelling at the same speed as it does from its original source the moon is only 250,000 miles away. Many nights when in a herbally induced pondering mood I'd lie on my back and look up at the stars and wonder which ones were still there as the light left these suns maybe billions of years ago.You could drive yourself nuts trying to figure out the mysteries of the universe-maybe that's what happened to me.I have a book called Black Holes and Warped Space Time it is very interesting and many theories and postulations are explored,it was written in 1979 by William J. Kaufmann,III a bit old but still a very timely topic.

So if the Big Bang was more or less 14 point something Billion years ago...

...what was going on 20 or 347 billion or 568 trillion years ago?

Time is the forth dimension  Shadow people look into our three dimensional universe and from time to time and you may catch them out of the corner of your eye :!:

that question got me thinking, cause everything has to go down to nothing, but then if there was NOTHING in beggining, how did the universe become what it is today?

How many Christian Scientists does it take to change a light bulb?

Two. One to change the bulb and one to tell Tom they cost six thousand dollars each!!!

"Top Gun" Tom is a Christian Scientist Nevin, I think that I saw a video clip of him telling that to Oprah. Is she a Christian Scientist too? If she is they could charge like 26K for the light bulb

The bit I don't get is what interest a notorious, exploitative religious cult has in sucking up to multi- multi-millionaire Tom Cruise? I can't understand it...

That's a question you have to ask God about.
IF you don't believe in Him, then..... I guess you've run out of sources.
The Bible tells of the beginning in the book of Genesis.

1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

3 ¶ And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

Now, it is a matter of "faith" that helps one to understand and accept those words as fact. Whosoever chooses not to believe those words will obviously not accept those words as fact.
When it says "Let there be light and there was light", I believe that at the same moment God said "Let there be Light", the socalled "Big Bang" took place.

Cmon lads. Cruise is a Scientologist not a Christian Scientist or member of the Christian Science church. Very different things aint they? I've no experience of either.

Did you see them Scientologists on the BBC the other week. Scary stuff the way they manipulated and spy'ed on that reporter. They had a ex-member explaining what they were doing to him on his previous encounters with them. Very clever stuff but they wouldn't have stood a chance against me. I'd have resorted to violence in a split second.

Let's start the INTERNATIONAL BEAT UP A SCIENTOLOGIST DAY

Do some good for humanity.

Just think if you're really lucky you could bump into Travolta or Cruise on that day and get a chance to legitimately smack em in the mouth. Payback for all them rubbish films about oil based singing and dancing and being a airplane flying bartending midget who runs away from aliens.

The pain and suffering caused to millions of innocent scientologists would be worth it. I'm half hoping Mel Gibson joins em too. I'll never forgive him for madmax 2&3 never mind the nonsense that came afterwards.

What the account of Genesis doesn't do is put a accurate description of God's timeframe on creation. The Earth wasn't created or populated. So what was the 1 day measurement? We get our day from the amount of time it takes the earth to turn on it's axis. Jupiter has a very different day roughly earth 9.8 hours. Venus has a long day that is 243 earth days. A year on Venus only takes 224 days. The day is longer than the year. It takes the planet longer to turn on it's axis than it does for the planet to revolve around the sun. You'd certinly be very tired come bedtime.

So what is God's day, how long is it?

Thats why I think creationists and evolutionists that think the bible states that the earth is only 10,000 years old are bloody stupid.

My bet is big God = big day.

 I apologize for getting those two mixed up. About two months ago I was in a bit of a mental quagmire and an old school friend of mine that is a Scientologist just happened to bump into me. Not my usual self I revealed to him that I was experiencing some difficulty's and he talked me into going to the headquarters here in Chicago to meet his group there. Long story short, weird vibe in that place Bro. The people there stare at you like those kid actors from that 1960 British horror movie "Village of the Damned". When I got out of the building ( told them I was going out for a smoke and kept walking) I admonished myself to not complain about my situation but just work on improving it as best I can. You can tell they scared me a little.
