this was a strange day :D the wife phoned me this afternoon to tell me that one of the women who work with her told me to go to her husbands work when i finished as he had a pedal board for me 8) the guy works in the recycling center in my town , anyway i get there and he said it's a wee amp and it was over the other side of the yard in a container .
i walk over and to my complete surprise there was a peavy mace vt tube amp and a peavy 400 pa head 8) 8) , so i loaded them up and got them in the house , they both fire up :P and work perfectly  i'm, blown away , i expected that they would need some work but no :D
just done a bit of digging and found out it's 160 watts  , so far it's been at 2 and it has a nice tone , i need to wait on the wife going out to turn it up some more ,
anyone else have one of these ?
well i'm off to play about with this amp some more

Let's see pics when you get a chance...

Here is my freebie from last year. A Carlsbro was put out with the trash near my home... before and after. Needed a fuse holder and the pots needed cleaning.

Both of my vintage fuzz boxes were saved from the trash in a local guitar store.A very rare Tim's Own Fuzzer Buzzer and a first year Big Muff Pi and a couple of minutes with a soldering gun got both of them working again. I recently saw a 1st year Big Muff on Ebay for over $500 and I can't even hazard a guess on the Tim's Own value.

well i got a set of valves on the way home tonight and put them in the mace so it's firing on all cylinders now 8) what a nice sounding amp , i've never been that keen on peavey stuff but this is in a class of it's own compared to the modern peavey amps :D . i'm watching a 4 switch foot pedal on the bay , hopefully i'll get it and rewire it to work with the mace 6 din plug , and then all it needs is a set of wheels on it , it's a heavy bugger :D and i might renew the grill cloth at some point as well , cheers
Alan

well tonight i finally got to turn the mace up a bit :D it was only about 2.5 but man what a nice sound with the strat , i also got the treble booster i bought , some sweet rory gallagher sounds were coming from the mace , for an amp that cost nothing , ok it looks a bit roadworn :D , i think it's a keeper 8) cant wait to wind it up a bit more  .
