As much as I love my Fender guitars sometimes you need something a little different.

If you have never thought of Taylor as a company for building electric guitars it's time to think again.
Yesterday I received a used Taylor SolidBody Classic w/mini humbuckers. I was blown away, this is a sweet guitar.
They have what they are calling "Plug and Play" pickguards. 8 different configurations that you can order separately. Takes about 5 minutes to swap out the pickguards, no soldering required.

BTW: I have a Taylor SolidBody Custom Build in Walnut w/3 Single Coils on order.

Anything further to add to that sitrep, Chet?

How does it sound?

Taylor Acoustic/Electrics are also amazing. I have a 424CE Spring limited, all koa wood, that has the sweetest sounds. If it wasn't so big, I'd keep it; I've been looking on other boards for trades or outright sales, but this economy has put a damper on that quite a bit.

Have fun with the new one, Chet.
