My band HaleAmano won a Summer-long Battle Of The Bands called "A Fight For Fame" sponsored by The Hard Rock Cafe.

There were 88 bands competing over the span of 5 months here in Las Vegas.. And we won it all!! The details are still being hashed out as far as the overall prize, but it was advertised as being $10,000 in cash and prizes.

How cool is that?

To tell you the truth, we're kind of surprised. We weren't sure if a Reggae band could take it all. But in the final round, we just let it all out, and took 1st place.

"How cool is that?"

It doesn't get any cooler than that Bro!
Congratulations! As a fellow Forum member I am very proud of you and your band mates and hope that HaleAmano enjoys this musical victory and the reward that comes with it. (pics please). Shred on Shredd6! 8)

Yea, we have a couple of videos of it. The audio isn't very good. It's just from a regular camera.

My solos will seem a little weak at first. About 2-minutes before we were supposed to start, my amp blew a fuse. :x So I had to get the amp from our Ukulele player. 2 totally different animals between a Marshall clean and a JC clean. But since I start the set, we had just plug in and go. So as the set went on, I tweaked things to where it was more tolerable volume-wise.

Also, yes, I know.. I'm playing my Ibanez Japanese RG. I'd been playing it all weekend. We just got through playing a show on Friday, and a Festival on Saturday, and I didn't want to mess with the mojo. That guitar has been money all weekend.

A couple more for you:

Here's our encore song:

I kind of feel bad for IZ in this one. a fan jumped on my mic and tripped up his vocals in the beginning. I promise he doesn't sing it that bad. Hahaha.

And here was the announcement:

Very cool night. Thanks for all of your kind words everyone. I really do appreciate it. I can honestly say that I'm a proud member of this community and you guys are awesome.. Even though I cheated and played my Ibanez, I still love my Strats and Squiers every bit as much.

Congrats Shredd... didn't see the competition play but I can see why your band won. Musically tight and great stage presence. You guys are having fun and you get the audience fired up as well.

We will be going to Arizona some time next year. I think in the spring-time. But first we'll be going to Hawaii for a month long tour in February. We're raising the money for it right now.

From what I understand, part of this prize package includes a small international tour at hard Rock Cafe's around the Country. But I'm still waiting to find out all of the details. I'll post the details of what exactly the prize package is when I know. It's quite a bit of stuff.
