Hi,
My Wife also had CFS. Same symptoms and none of the doctors we went to had any idea of what to do. We finally went to a nutitionist and she solved the problem in no time with a change in diet and some type of vitamin ( my wife will remember what it was). My wife would go to bed at 8pm and sleep until 9am, then come home at lunch and sleep for an hour, and still could barely function. If you'd like I can find out the details of her treatment for you. We were really amazed at how fast she was back to normal. Hope this helps!

Sorry to hear about your wife.

I hear that this is something that can happen especially to people that are very active. A classmate of mine back in elementery was a very active person. He practiced handball, football (the proper one (soccer)) and basketball and he was good in all of them, while rest of us brought one lunchbox he brought two just to keep him going during the school day. Then when we were about twelve years old his fatigue dropped and his doctor claimed he had CFS and told him to cut down in sports. Now he is playing football (the proper kind (soocer) 8) ) professionally in Norway or Sweden.

I told my wife about all the support that was coming from the Forum members and even passed on the hugs and her spirits were immensely uplifted. Thanks again everyone for your kind empathy and words of encouragement,I'm proud to have such a caring and supportive group of dear and cherished friends.PTS 295 I've heard that diet change can help relieve the symptoms of CFS in a lot of cases and we would greatly appreciate any info-Thanks very much.

My wife's diet was basically very low in carbs. Small meals eaten 6 times a day to keep her blood sugar levels from spiking. She ate a packet of oatmeal and an apple for breakfast, a low carb, high protein shake for a snack, 2 cups of salad greens with a low fat raspberry vinagrette for dressing with either 4 oz. of chicken or steak for lunch, a protein bar or shake as an afternoon snack and then 2 cups of salad greens, chicken, steak or fish and a 1/4 of a small potato for dinner. Other snacks were chicken and a tomato slice on a piece of Ezekial bread or 2 plain rice cakes with a tablespoon of all natural peanut butter.

She was on a multi-vitamin, a high dosage of vitamin C and an all natural supplement called Mitochondrial Resuscitate. This supplement was created for Greg LeMonde, the famous cyclist, as he was one of the first to be diagnosed with CFS. It can be found online.

The nutritionist said she would feel better within a week. We were totally skeptical as she had been suffering from this for over two years. Sure enough, within a week she had more energy than she had had in two years and we were completely amazed! She only had to take the Mitochondrial Resuscitate for a month. The nutritionist said that her adrenal glands were not producing enough cortisol and this apparently got things jump started. She has not had a relapse in 10 years.

Best of luck and let us know how she is doing.
