so i really want a epiphone valve jr. but i got a crate V5 from gc for $60. i don't have an extra $60-80 to get the valve jr so i am wondering if it would be worthwhile to rebuild the crate's circuit board into one of a valve jr. does anyone have any experience with something like this and is it going to be really costly. i am only changing the circuit not the speaker right now.

In itself it won't be cosltly.

But your going to lose more than $80 in educating yourself and putting right mistakes you've made. Aswell as components.

Building amps is no way to save/make money for someone not used to doing it.
I learnt the hard way.

It's worth doing if you want to learn a bit and get a sound like you won't hear out of a mass produced amp.

I'll build my second, I'll probably never buy another amp ever.
It's no way to save money though for a first timer.
