Was messing around with My Epi Goldtop yesterday and recorded this. It is kind of sloppy in some parts, but I like the overall groove. Let me know what you think...

Once again this is recorded through my Line6 Spiderjam plugged directly into my computer sound card (RCA ==>1/8 stereo) and using Audacity recording software (free download).

First, my hat is off to anyone with the GUTS to post any original audio files here. I've done so. Nobody ever said a freaking WORD.

Second, you have very sound technique. The piece is reminiscent of an Allman Brother outtake. Like something they should have released but didn't.

Third, I heard a whole lot of single coil hum before the song started, which can be cured with a good shielding job.

Fourth, keep playing. You have a VERY nice touch. And I'm glad to know you.

Fifth, Audacity is a good tool, but I prefer different software for home recording, maybe no better...but Cool Edit Pro works me....now marketed as ADOBE AUDITION. I'm just used to it.

If you want to move to NC, I have an idea for some things.

Again, nice WORK! Thanks for sharing and making my day a little brighter for knowing that very few people heard that, but I DID! Nice!!!

I like it, But, IMO, The drums are a little too busy, and way too out in front. and I would use less reverb. Good jam otherwise. 8)

SURE, like you can tell the drummer to be less busy? Really? Can you?

I like the drums where they're sitting in this mix and even think the kick could come up a bit. The guitars sound good and if anything, I'd add some bass or boot it a few db's. Nice jam!

Wow, thanks very much for the compliment!! Lately I'm trying to work up the guts to bring my axe to an open jam. My problem is that I mostly improvise and don't know a lot of songs. I tried to play with some guys at a friends party this summer and my lack of song knowledge was an issue. I forgot to mention that the drum track was a pre-recorded track and the 2 guitar parts were me.

Oh yeah forgot to mention, I actually don't mind the P-90 hum! Once I start playing I don't notice it at all.

I appreciate the feedback, Marvin. I can go a little heavy on the delay, but I can't help myself! As far as the drums, I used a track that came with my amp, so not a lot of direction I can give there  . I find getting the mix right is pretty tricky and I've really just started messing around with recording.

I definitely need to find a buddy who plays bass, or learn myself. A friend let me borrow a Peavy T-40 bass, I think a switch is bad causing the bridge pickup to cut out. I'll need to open it up and have a look, but I'm not sure I've got the fingers to play bass. Mine are short and stubby and most decent bassists I've seen have giant fingers!

Another buddy of mine plays keys and I'll get him to add some stuff to this one...

A couple of weeks ago was the time, they were on sale for $399. I really like it, it plays nice and I'm digging the P-90s. I was looking for a used one on Craigslist. I have been seeing a lot of great deals due to the crummy economy, but I couldn't pass up on the new one at that price.

I think you are BEYOND ready for open MIKE NIGHT.

Very nice touch. BUT then again I am a bassist.

But I'd play with a guy like you.

Honestly, you might not know EVERY song in the world. but you know that one.

Ask them to play that one.

The main thing is to get out and play!

Brotherdave, thanks again :) I plan on checking out a jam on Wednesday night. I MAY bring a guitar.

kong, quit being a va-jay-jay and take your guitar to the open-mike night. every time i see you post your stuff my wife will ask me "who's that?" we think you play great.
don't worry about being note for note at open mike. folks want to hear a differnt' take on standard tunes or just an improv jam. no pressure. just freakin do it. i'd be suprised is someone didn't invite you to join or form a band. i would.
