Thats the thing about pups... you can listen to the comparisons on the tube, or at the manufactures site... but you really don't know how they will really sound in YOUR guitar...

Between those two, I'd recommend the JB jr. for the simple fact that it will clean up a little better at low volume levels and will still scream when you push it...just my 2 cents. But I don't think you can really go wrong either way.

I had the hot rails in my first strat...They were great for overdriven tones, but I was never quite happy with the clean tone when I'd roll off the guitar volume. It was still nice tone, but I'm personally very picky
The JB Jr. I haven't had in any of my guitars, but my buddy has one installed in his AmStd. Tele in the bridge and I've played that guitar MANY times and the sound is pretty sweet. And like I said in my last post...it cleans up really nice when the volume's rolled off, and still has great output for overdriven tones as well.
I think the JB jr. (and reg JB) is one of the most versatile pickups out there and I'll be installing one in the bridge of my blackout Tele as soon as funds permit.

i had some jb's in a beck model kramer.
killer tones from that guitar. wish i never sold it.
i wish there were pickup stores where you could go in and try out guitars with different pickups lol.
i went to the compare section of the duncan site. all the pickups sound about the same through my laptop. dang it, im stuck here.
i might just go with the JB jr

I think you'll be pretty pleased if you choose the JB jr.s
Also...Have you checked out people's reviews of these pickups on youtube? I'm sure there will be a ton of them.

Oh that sucks...I've never looked myself but I figured there'd be a lot. Well...good luck on making the decision, I'm sure you'll be pleased either way you go.
