Is the Russian Small Stone based on the original?I have one of the first Bad Stones and it is really lush and cool-you can't beat the old analogue pedals-I have a first year Electric Mistress,Big Muff Pi and Frequency Analyzer-Electro Harmonix made/makes some of the funkiest and cheapest pedals yet they are just about blast proof.

yea but its made by sovtek and is plain black with red russian lettering... my dads friend has one of both (NYC and sovtek) and side by side, the sovtek had a more lush, deep sound and better swell... the russian big muff is pretty damn beastly (a bottomless pit of low end) as well, but theyre a bit on the expensive side so itll have to wait

I'm not all that clued in on muffs (haha), I'm not sure if the green one was an electroharmonix model or if its just his name for his copy, but he'll make you just about anything if you ask nicely.

ehx does makes some wicked stuff 8) I just got their Freeze Sound Retainer and its just adds such a unique sound to playing. I don't have a loop pedal either, so I really like using it as a drone to my soloing.

I think my next purchase will be the big muff (w/ tone wicker). Good, Vintage distortion...
And my dream purchase would be the POG synth... I couldn't shell out that much money (and its definitely not an necessity)

ill be sure NOT to check out that synth because, you see, i play alternative rock, mostly punk grunge and noise rock, so any effect is a necessity for me

i live by this: if it can make another noise I WANT IT

well, the pedal arrived today... AND IT WORKS!!!! such a great sound from it, and such range...you can go from a nice slow sweep to this ungodly, "spaceman" sounding effect that makes feedback sound pretty damn cool.

one problem: fitting it on my board. its the size of a small continent  , so im gonna have to move some stuff around... wont be a problem if the boss chorus is a little harder to reach because i really only use that to deepen the small clone and get this sick double (sometimes with my amps help triple) chorus effect that is absolutely thunderous.

if i can find something decent to record with (and figure out how to hook it up to my computer lol), ill be putting a demo of my new toy on youtube 8)
