I've always wondered if Leo Fender had any family or a relative he could of passed the company onto instead of selling it. Was George Fullerton or Don Randall or anyone else in the Fender organization remotely interested in taking it over? I know Leo sold the company due to health reasons, but he never really got out of the business for a long time after the sale. Was it just a matter of money, or the lack of an interested person to hand the company down to? BTW, in today's money, what was Fender sold for back in the 60's?

Leo's first wife preceded him in death by some fifteen years. He remarried and his second wife saw him through his manufacturing efforts subsequent to the sale of FEIC to CBS. AFAIK he had no heirs with either spouse.
