More specifically: anyone catching the Joe Bonamassa show at the Apollo in Manchester this Friday? Care for a bevvy at the bar?

Cheers - C

EDIT: spelling - Jo, Joe... d'oh!

Ceri,
Can't make that show, but I have tickets for his show Dec 10 here in Florida at the Hard Rock Live. I'm hoping he does stuff from Black Country Communion; I really like that album, much edgier than his blues stuff. You can hear a bit of Zeppelin in it, perhaps Jason Bonham's influence.

Yeah: my intro to Bonamassa was the You and Me album, and Bonham helped that one along no end. I like Bogey's drumming in the regular tour band too, though.

Oh, and congrats on a thousand posts! A Pro you are! :D

...So c'mon, Forum users of Manchester. You can't ALL be staying in to watch Gardeners' World on TV on a Friday night...?

Can't do it Ceri this friday but I'm going to the Jeff Beck concert at the Apollo, Manchester on the....er...21st..I think it's the 21st or 22nd this month. It ain't me that's got the tickets you see, I'll have to find out the date.
I'm a bit miffed at missing Joe Bonamassa though, I didn't know he was on, I'll have to start noticing things like this, I've become an admirer of his music and I've heard you enthuse in the past as to how good he is live.
Yeah, bit of a bummer, so close as well. :(

Oh man - so near and yet so far! What an honour it would have been to down a beer or two with you!

I'm in Manchester for two nights - on Saturday we're at the ballet for Romeo and Juliet at... can't remember which venue. Don't suppose you're at that one by any chance? I kinda didn't think it needed mentioning on an electric guitar forum but - you never know?

My wife and her siblings just finally sold the family home in Saddleworth, so we'll likely be up in your part of the world less often from now on. But her sister is still in Manchester, so all things are possible...

I'd be right up for a drink or summat anytime you feel like it. Put it in the back of your mind, anyhow.

Best to you - C

Ceri, the honour would be all mine to have a drink with you, it's just that you've caught me unawares ( it's not difficult ) a bit short notice, you see, I've got family things happening this weekend.
We've really got to come up with some excuse to celebrate some occasion, with brit members, at some venue, sometime, it has to happen.
Glad you'll still be getting up to Manchester now and again, in the future.
I'll definitely keep it in mind and there's that Jeff Beck gig in a week, if you can get to that?
Anyway, if not, we'll arrange something else sometime.
Cheers pal, take care. 8)

I saw him in Dublin last Thursday, truly amazing. He did not do any of the Black Country Communion stuff but did a lot of songs off Black Rock, the newest album.

Hi BCB: then watch out for Sloe Gin. He's tacked a nice new opening section onto the front of it which you might like. And he's throwing some neat new licks into Woke Up Dreaming too - keep your ears open. In fact, a lot of the new material all together. Very cool.

Home after my long weekend: for anyone as wants 'em, here's some show pics from the gig. It was kickin'!

Saw him last night guys, "smokin ", " Kickin " a couple of words that certainly describe his show, he just doesn't let up until about the 5th or 6th song in, 2nd row centre BCB probably best seats in the house, late to get the tickets myself ended up far left obscured slightly "sound and visually" by huge PA  one helluva rockin show though.
