its official, i've started saving up for my next electric guitar. i'm putting all my money in my money tin, which you can not open without beaking. it probably'll take me 4-7 months to save up for one of them.
its just, i'm stuck between 4 choices.

Squier jagmaster

Eastwood hi flyer

hallmark johnny ramone signature blue model (i probably wont get this one as it cost to much).

eastwood mach 2

Your opinion's guys?? i'm really stuck.

Well if you want a little 'Ramona' then I suggest this

http://roselanemusic.com/epages/eshop111508.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/eshop111508/Products/%22Eastwood%20JR%20Elite%22

The JR elite.

Played a couple and love em. A lot of the Mosrite devotees are up in arms and saying their not too good. Hogswash I say. Based on my experiences of Mosrite's, non of those players have a right to comment. I've never seen a good playing mosrite. My Ventures is terrible.

Here's a source better suited to your location.

For the sound you are going for and the style of music you play a vintage Guild SG model would be perfect and cost you less than $800

there a good guitar, not cause kurt and johnny played one for a while, but they just have great raw distortion tones.

I would say squier jagmaster, i've played one once and it was a great solid little guitar.

If you don't mind, how much are you looking to spend?

Blackcat bone, I believe the Guild "SG" model you are refering to is most likely the S-100 that was previously known as the Polara but the original S-100 is by far the superior model. It has 2 Guild humbucker pups with a phase mini toggle that affects the rear pup. And can outcrunch and outgrunge any SG. Unless they have rereleased the S-100 they are going on the net for much more than $800,my buddy mentioned a really abused one on e-bay or some such site for $900 and an S-100 SC (like mine) would probably go for around $1500 +.From '63-70 the Polara had 2 or 3 single coil pups and was named the S-100 from 70-78 and was put back on the market from '94-'96 and renamed Polara in '97.For '72-'75 there was also a Deluxe model with a Bigsby and the SC connotation denotes either Special or Standard Carved depending on which book you're getting the info from.BTW Kim Thayill of Soundgarden used S-100s exclusively for his raunchy crunch tone and had amassed a pretty large inventory of them.Riley if you could find one of these for around $1,000 you'd be doing really good as they are about the grungiest guitars ever made but can cut right your soul when playing blues and you can even get the old SG "woman" tone from it with a few tweaks of the tone and volume controls.

riley, ive been readin reviews of those eastwood guitars.... preety iffy.... people saying they cant handle effects (or basic distortion even) very well at all, and that the neck is a bloody tree trunk.... but its up to you, read reviews for yourslef, watch some demos, and see what ya think

That's the one, the S-100. I called it the SG model thinking not many people on here even knew about them. I typically find them for $800 in good condition but I am also a member of the Guilds forum and we find nearly every Guild that sells in the USA and post a topic about it. Right now I am debating on a 75 S-100 Standard for $800 w/ OHSC. But you are right, they can go for $1000+ in many cases especially the carved models.

I think for the tone Riley has displayed and the music he likes, a Guild S-100 would be epic for him. I thought about mentioning it a while back but I think he has a SG now and isn't crazy about it?

The S-100 certainly has more punch and crunch than an SG and has the best properties of the SG and Les Paul and then some as the pups are much hotter yet ironically can get more mellower and even jazzy sounding. It would behoove Guild to put the S-100 back on the market perhaps as a Kim Thayill model since artist guitars are the rage.
