ive been offered these by a friend for my project guitar.
i dont know anything about them. never heard them.
does anybody own these? whats your opinion on them?

They're the best set of CS pickups that Fender doesn't put into a regular production Stratocaster.

And yes, I have a set.

do you think they would go well with my OCD pedal and a fender tube amp?
can you clean them up with a slight roll of the volume control?
who would you say has a close tone of that of the 50s?
i dont want to take them if i wont like them.
just trying to get a good idea of what to expect from them.
hearing is the real test i know.

Well I have an OCD in my signal chain and you already know what amps I prefer.

The Fat '50's yield a ballsy Robert Cray-ish tone......plenty of "fattitude" with just a skosh of the bite rolled back. The lows remain throaty and well-articulated. I have them in an ash-bodied hardtail with a maple fretboard. In that combination they're everything I wanted and expected out of the guitar.

Frankly, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

fair enough. i like robert cray. he has a good tone for his style of blues. fits his voice well too if you know what i mean.
