so i wondered into a local guitar store to see whats up.
i looked around at the same ole same ole and then........
there in the back........way in the back.........i saw a headstock.
this wasnt just any headstock but one i knew all to well.
pushing past customers one by one as if in slow motion i made
my way to the back of the store. the store over populated as always
the customers knew i was in a hurry and all huddled in my way to
make the journey take as long as possible.
i had no choice to start moving folks about as i made that long haul to
the back of the store. i saw my goal in all her glory setting there waiting for somebody, anybody, to pick her up and treat her like the jewel she really is. could any more people get in my way?
salesman after salesman saying hello as i struggled to the beauty before me. i didnt want to be rude so i said hello and quickly regained
focus. im within feet and i saw a guy headed towards my goddess and
i stretched with everything i had, BINGO.
finally in my hands was one of my biggest addictions, a 80s/early 90s charvel, the hammer of the gods. oh man i had to plug it in. from blues jr to a mesa tripple rec, i played through many. we bonded rather quickly
as i have several already. we bonded, and she came home with me.
i love it.

i use to collect them exclusively.
man ive had some nice ones too.
grove did a great job with that company after he bought it
from wayne.
i ALWAYS stop and play them when i see them just in case.
well todays "stop and play" had to come home with me.
ive been a fan since the metal days.
charvel and jackson were my axe of choice.
i mean honestly, what else was there?
ive since dropped my metal playing for something more
relaxing but i guess i didnt drop the addiction of a good quality
charvel.

pre fender charvels and jacksons were by far some of the best guitars ever made in my opinion. american kramers were up there too.
im looking for one now. theres good ones out there for sure but im looking for that special one. i'll know it when i play it. its gotta be american though.
i want 2 or 3 for the collection.
they were pretty heavy too. sustain for ever lol.
the kramer/eddie/floyd merger was a good thing. they had a great partnership once upon a time.

up til 4AM playing this turd, and back up at 9AM again to play.
i love this fiddle. cant wait to open it up to see what pickups are in this thing. just found a crazy cheap jackson on CL this morning. going to look at it at 1PM. i need a parts guitar anyways. this one might fit the bill nicely
with a body left over.

It's a great feeling to find that perfect guitar that you instantly bond with-I wonder if that's why all those oil shieks have so many wives.

i have what i believe is an old model 4? i've had for almost 20 years now if my memory serves me right. i think it was made overseas but i don't care. it's the HSS pu configuration with jackson active pu's. it's my #1 and is an incrdible guitar. wouldn't sell it for a million bucks.

see thats the thing with jackson, the over seas stuff was just as good as the american made stuff. the japan factories had a very high standard for the charvel and jackson guitars. very high.
im off to buy another jackson in a few minutes.
they are just good solid guitars. the necks on them are almost all bout the same, except for the baseball bat necks they tried for a while.

mr. waycool, with all due respect sir, you simply can't write such a dramatic story about finding this new guitar without some pics.
i agree about the quality. mine's is very solid. i need to have a few locking screws machined since mine's are slowly stripping due to age. other than that, she is the guitar that i until recently i would not take out of my house. with the band gigging on a regular basis, plus my older age, i see no reason not to play this beauty every chance i get.
hope you find another gem waycool.

lol i know pics are requested.
they will be up soon.
theres parts for jacksons all oveer the place
so dont fret needing screws. :D

i just picked up a jackson parts guitar off of CL for $40
it even has the reverse headstock.
i might just fix this one and put it back on CL or trade it in on something i might want down the road.
the neck doesnt have that feel im looking for honestly.
its missing the selector switch knob, a tone knob,
the two back cover plates and a bridge saddle.
the guy had been kicking this thing around for yrs and
needed to get rid of it. hey $40 for a great project isnt bad.

charvel, squier, jackson.

the charvel is a dream to play im telling you. i love it.
the squier is the project guitar i bought that started the post
titled "what a let down".
the jackson is the one i bought today for $40.
im still not exactly sure what i want to do with it yet.
parts? project? fix and resale? trade in?
i just dont know yet.
