I was reading how to set up the guitar on Fenders site. My question is they have the neck adjustment stating if you need one thing turn clockwise if you need something else turn it counter clockwise. Is this based on if the guitar is standing up and you are looking down on the guitar from the front or the back?

Thanks

Keep reading...there's a whole section on truss rod adjustment and how to measure neck relief.

Got it. I missed the line where it said site down from the headstock. When looking at the neck releif I usually site down from the tail end. So I would have adjusted 180 degrees the oposite of what I wanted.

Adjusting the truss rod by sight is a learned skill. Don't try this yourself. Use feeler guages to measure the string height and determine neck relief. Since you've never done this before, if you think there's something wrong with the neck, take it to a tech and have him adjust it. Ask if you can watch so you can learn what to look for and how to do it properly.

I appreciate the concern about adjusting the neck. I bought the tools to do a set up. I just did not have the guitar in front of me when I was reading how to set up a guitar.

I figured out clockwise is turning from the first string to the 6th string. I also understand you should never do more than a quarter turn at a time. I am hoping I have to do nothing in regards to the neck when I do my set up. I have no fear of adjusting the neck.

I have allready replaced pickups in one guitar and think soldering is harder.

Thanks
