Well between work, and deer hunting(Oct 16-Dec 21) and still having to finish cutting and splitting fire wood, I have a 4x12 cab to re-cover (tweed)
Then I want to start a Strat build. Lookig to do a CAR vintage body, maple/maple 21 fret neck with EMG SA's (alla David Gilmour) Then if time permits, maybe a couple hours sleep. But you know how it goes, most likely I won't sleep.

WI KISSfan, I will be stripping the squier-bass using Franmar's Soy-Gel.
it is a stripper made from soy beans, water soluble, biodegradable, nontoxic, pleasant soy odor, environmentally inert.
Brushes on, bubbles the finish lifting it from the wood, easily scrapes right off, final wipe off with a damp sponge, then let dry and sand. ( however it is expensive

For finish I'll be using Polycrylic, also water based.

I've used both extensively in refenishing windows and oak doors in home remoddeling renovations.

I've never heard of the Sog Gel stuff, but would probably check it out, thanx. I actually thought I'd just sand the gloss off and start from there rather than the restrip route.

For the clear coat, I was thinking of hitting up a local auto body shop. That is what I did with my 78 Musicmaster, it is actuall the same blue as a car we owned at the time. But the clear coat they put on was really nice. I've moved since the days of doing that bass so I'd have to find a new shop.

It would be nice to find a MM body on Ebay that wasn't too expensive to refinish, just in case the whole thing goes south somehow.
