Ok I dunno much about Guitar Tech stuff. When I first look at Electric Guitar Fretboard I saw 21,22 and 24. That puzzles me coz I wonder y they don't make 24th frets standard for all guitars it seems more complete that way.

Recently If I am not mistaken as I was browsing I saw a more than 24 frets guitar hmmm now that really beats me, I mean is this just design or what?

Coz as far as I've discovered the shorter neck so to speak produces a mellower sound, u may adjust ur settings to achieve that on longer necks but naturally the 21 frets sounds mellower I think. But honestly correct me If I am wrong u can't exactly get that mellower sound even if u adjust ur settings I think hee! :)

So I've never tried anything more than 24 frets wonder how that would sound I just hope they are not annoying  Anyway to be completely honest the 21 frets did bother me a long time ago coz I thought they were simply inferior hehe! but now I don't care I like the tone on the 21 frets and I don't mine searching for the notes backwards. Well it may not be two octave but who cares doesn't sound dissonant. Am a sloppy shredder anyway.

However once I saw this person shreds on youtube and he cursed the neck coz he supposedly ran out of frets but I think that's foolish coz before u even make the attempt can't u see? lol! how many frets on the fingerboard  More over that reflects ur musical intuition and inability to find alternative routes hehe! and a lil more embarrassing when he actually shreds well other than the screw up that shows that he has been playing for some time lol! I am just picking on him :D

It's not an issue to me really. My Hwy 1 had 22 and the partscaster I am building will have 21. I ma not going to be up near frets 21-22 enough to really warrant worrying about how many there are there.

It certainly doesn't bother me enough to fret about it.If I need to reach a higher note I'll bend the string or use pinch harmonics.

All nine of my Strats have 21.

Only my AmStd Tele (which I seldom play) has 22.

Having 22 or 24 is occasionally useful. In this opinion, only the 1st and 2nd strings really "need" the 24th.

All my go to guitars are 21fretter's.
The 22 fretter's I don't seem to play much at all.

Size of the neck doesn't play as much a part in no' of frets as scale length does.

It's rare I go past the 17th. I'm just too lazy to put the extra effort in.

I have a guitar with 7 frets, randomly along the neck.

So glad I'm not the only one. On a side note: Ninja, if you read this, I'm interested in that 18-watter you built. I've never tried to build an amp, but the 18w Marshall or a 5E-3 have me itching to try. Was that project a real pain, or not too bad.

I've lived with 21 frets for 42 years. I don't think I need more than that. In my early days I missed not having a 22nd fret on some Santana tunes, but somehow I managed.
