That’s what I’m talking about… that’s the kind of camaraderie that sets our forum apart

Cheers Guys... Looks like it was a great time

No West Coast tour planned Ceri?

Oh man, I'd love to! So much I want to do and see over there. It'll happen sooner or later, be certain!

See you then. 8)

Anyhow. For absolutely no reason except sickening showing off, here's a couple of shots from the full wraparound rooftop terrace we had on the apartment where we stayed in NY. Our hostess has the top two-and-a-half floors of a building on the Upper East Side overlooking the East River. How cool is this?

That's the Chrysler Building peeping through in the distance. And the tall skinny one right of centre is the Trump Palace Tower. "Trump" means something completely different where my wife comes from, which made her fall about laughing...

This is from the terrace round the other side later in the day. Again, taken on a tiny iPhone, so forgive the picture quality:

Howzat for snazzy accommodation? :D

Good stuff all around. Great views there, Ceri. Glad you enjoyed your visit! Mrs Kong and I are still seriously considering a trip to your Isles next summer if we can pull it together. I'd better get to work on procuring my passport...

Price of an apartment like that, our hostess almost could. Or her employer, anyhow. Don't tell the taxpayers...

You better had! :D

BTW: I'm still getting round to picking up some fossils for your Missus on a certain beach. She knows about that: tell her it ain't forgotten...

Cheers - C

Cool pics guys, I'd have happily paid the entrance fee just to sit and listen 8)

Would certainly have loved to have had anybody in the area along. Ceri and I would have considered that a plus. Lucilles Grill is an eatery on a lower level, separate from the club. Entrance fee could be little more than the price of a burger and a brew. Talent is free there.

I trust that with the wimmins present that Doc didn't show you
some of the other sites on 42nd street.

It sounds like a fine time was had by all. 8)

Time of day, and day of week being what it was, my wife was not along. 42nd Street has more lustre. The action finds itself on the west side in the 20's now adays.

How far are you from Calabasas, Chet? My father-in-law lives there?

Had we had some time to spend I would have taken them down to Greenwich Village for a pic in front of The Cafe WHA?? Recall what guitar god came out of that place(Other than yours truly  ) We could have mated it to you photo in front of The Cavern.

Looking northeast there is what has now been renamed the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge ( ne Triboro Bridge).

I told Ceri that I lifeguarded at a roof-top pool on the same street about 10 blocks north, some 45 years ago. I've seen that view at night countless times. Used to come up there from my gig at The WHA, take a quiet dip in the pool to cool off, and bunk out in the locker room with my Strat safe at my side, until the sun rose to start the day.

From that viewpoint during the day, had I been there with you , I would have directed your attention south where you would have seen that powerhouse we discussed in an earlier thread of yours. The Pink Floyd pig re-creation, you might recall.

I had the pleasure of meeting Doc when he was down in Florida last year. However, being of a certain age, I've completely forgotten which other forum member was with us. Doc, help me out here !

I'll be up in NJ during Thanksgiving, so another meeting is possible.
