so I've been looking for some pickups to spice my guitar up. I cant get them very soon so I'm doing some research. the pickups I'm looking at are the lace sensors blue/silver/red, I have also been looking at custom shop 69's and fat 50's. I have heard sound clips of the 50's and 69's and loved the tone of the 50's neck pickup and I also liked the tone of the 69's. I'm also looking at laces but I haven't heard sound clips yet; but, people seem to generally like them plus they are noiseless.

so to sum it all up, for the lace, 50's, and 69's do ya love 'em or hate 'em?

which should someone who likes rock and Luves Pink Floyd get?

Thanks in advance and rock on.

Fan,

Have you seen the EMG David Gilmour Pre-wired pickup set at GC or on the web? It comes all pre-wired so all you do is replace the current pick guard with the new on. I love Gilmour and noticed the set right away, but have not seen any comments as to how they really sound. Oh and it sells fr about $300.
Not being a big trem fan, I have blocked mine out so will never get the total Gilmour sound but I try anyway with an Amer.Std strat.

I'd seen those but when starting this thread I forgot about them, seems interesting but a little pricey, I guess when the time comes I could dig in further into my pockets.

It's hard to say..

Lace Red/Silver/Blue are poles apart from a fat 50's or 69's

I would try Hot Gold Sensors- or regular Golds or Silver with a mix of Emerald or Purple.

Laces are also louder than 69's, and have no hum. A different breed of pickup- however they would be my pick of the bunch :)

I'm with Blertles on this one. You'll want to try out a strat with Lace pups before you buy as they're not everyones cup 'o' tea.

I love 'um and have several sets. For the sound i think your after, check out the Hot Golds. Amazing pups IMO.

Cheers!

Andy
