Why are America's Best Fenders being sent to Japan??
They have more customers able and willing to pay more money.
That market will eventually move to CHINA.

Kinda funny seeing that they are becoming rich Communists and Americans are becoming poor Capitalists.

We did it to ourselves folks.

I really don't see why you're moaning about a Showcase dealer in Japan. They don't let commoners in anyway. They know you're not walking in there with between 8-15K in your pocket.
America and Canada have plenty of Showcase dealers too.

I really think your making something of nothing.

well probably because more people prefer the high end there? or there is demand or probably the company will earn more than if they sell around the west area..

another example is in the country Philippines, since there is only one authorized dealer, they sell the american standards (jazz basses) @ $2200 where you can get it by $1200, and the roadworns were like more than the SRP.. probably its because of the SRP + freight/shipping

There are no showcase dealers where I live, or in the next province.

The closest dealer is 853 kilometers away.

So move!

You can't say that Fender don't provide that service in your country though. Just because it isn't on your doorstep.

Lot's of people have to deal with that. You won't find any Showcase dealers in the UK or France. The nearest is Germany. Yet I know people that regularly shop with them. Have collections that dwarf anything I've seen elsewhere. What do they do? Fly out, buy and fly back.

Different shopping experience for a different customer. Thats the hard reality of it. It's why oil barons fly all there wives out to Harrods (also a CustomShop Dealer). They fill containers full of stuff they never see again. It's a shopping experience, not a place for any old joe to go and pull a guitar off the wall and blast away on. You'll notice that the Fender Showcase Showrooms (not the dealers) aren't open all the time like regular shops. They open to appointment only, for serious buyers.

Bah that showcase dealer is only 530 miles to use a real measurement.

There is a huge market for high priced American guitars in Japan, there's even a company in Tokyo called Strato-Crazy that specializes in nothing but Vintage Strats and their inventory is huge, there are some of the world's most desireable Strats in their shop and they are very expensive. You can check out their site here: http://www.higuitars.com .BTW they ship worldwide.

Hey guitslinger...that link don't seem to be valid. just curious to see what they have...I certainly don't have the cash!

Hi Tyronne,I made a misprint in the address and left out an important hyphen. The correct address is http://www.hi-guitars.com that should get you there. Nevin while I was looking at the guitar store link you put on youttube I looked at some others on the page and looked at Dave's Guitar Shop in La Crosse Wis. and was blown away by the guys private collection that takes up the entire 2nd floor of his shop.he has at least 50 each of Strats and Teles and even has the rare 6 string that was made using left over Fender Electric XII and asst'd parts,I've only seen pix it was called the Maverick, very few were made and his is near mint..He also has dozens of vintage Firebirds and extremely rare Gibsons such as the Moderne. You can check his store at www.davesguitar.com certainly enough to get the most guitar impotent excited. He also has signed posters of many of rockdom's most elite players so I imagine that he must deal with some pretty exclusive clientelle.Judging by the pristine condition of some of his 50 yr. old + gear,it's not surprising.I thought that most of the unblemished relics had already gone to Japan, not so I guess.

I heard a long time ago that many industries sell exclusive stuff in Asia because there is such a huge problem of counterfeits, and that giving them an exclusive product makes them more inclined to purchase it.

The music industry has done it for years.... again that's what I heard once, not sure how accurate that is
