They will sell there. I really miss some of the guitars that I got to play in Japan. I was in the Air Force and stationed in Japan twice and didn't really know how great I had it till I left. I wish I had more money to buy some of those guitars. Great selection in even the smallest of shops and awesome pricing as well.

There is a huge market for high priced American guitars in Japan, there's even a company in Tokyo called Strato-Crazy that specializes in nothing but Vintage Strats and their inventory is huge, there are some of the world's most desireable Strats in their shop and they are very expensive. You can check out their site here: http://www.higuitars.com .BTW they ship worldwide.

Cheap labor, I try not to buy anything from Japan. My two Fender guitars are made in China -cheap labor again , but I dont mind China. I dont want Japan Fender guitars etc. Japan has taken enough American jobs away, now that I think of it , China has taken American workers jobs also.

If what your saying is true then it can only be it's where they sell best / faster than elsewhere, also I'd say the Japanese top the marketing world by far nowadays, walk down any street probably every 3rd or 4th car you see will be made in Japan, same probably goes for TV's, computers almost all hi-tech equipment will be MIJ, they know how to sell end of.

Everybody is confused.

I mean, why does Fender, Gibson etc send the best AMERICAN MADE guitars to Japan.

The Fender Custom Shop is very guilty of this.

they send product to where the market is.

Ironically you may have an easier time finding a high end or Custom Shop Fender at a Japanese dealer that ships internationally than in North America.

You kinda got that backwards man. Chinese made guitars are probably the cheapest of the three and Japanese and Mexican made Fenders are usually a higher quality than Chinese.
