I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with these types of companies. Specifically I'm looking at assembling a new strat using a highway one body and I'm wondering if the quality of the guitar necks that come from these companies are good. Or if I should stick to fender and try and find a neck that has what I'm looking for. Right now I'm looking at Warmoth because you can build your own neck to your specs. Any other suggestions would be great too.

I have used Allparts bodies and necks in the past with excellent results. They integrate nicely with genuine Fender components and their finishes look good and wear well.

The only experience I've had with after market suppliers was with Warmoth. I friend at work had a body and neck from Warmoth and honestly I wasn't very impressed. The quality of the neck wasn't very good, not even as good as the neck on my '98 MIM Strat which I think is just OK. They certainly weren't up to par with MIA Fender parts.

I only have experience with Musikraft necks and bodies, as they came recommended by my luthier and several other luthiers who have done partscaster projects in the past. I was 100% satisfied with the neck and body I order from them: the fret work was perfect, beautiful selection of wood and the body perfect as well.

Considerable experience with Warmoth. Very high quality. I have a wizard profile walnut neck with a ziricote fretboard. All of their maple and maple/rosewood necks I've played have been top notch and you're right, you can build to your specs. You can email them and Ken Warmoth will even write you back!

I got 1 neck from Warmoth and am very happy with the quality, fit and finish. I used it for a strat I built.

My Warmoth necks are by far my favorites. Fender just doesn't make a neck with a maple fingerboard, compound radius, fat back, and huge (6100) frets. I've had no problems with quality of fit, finish, or function, and having a neck built to your specs (especially if you have big hands) will make playing the guitar more comfortable, and therefore more enjoyable.
