Scotty Moore went in the year Metallica went in.

It's really hard to fathom considering he's ten times as talented as most of the people who've already been inducted. There's no better person to represent blues/rock than Stevie.

Ditto. Again, it's ridiculous.

you guys gotta keepn mind that they cant put everybody in at once.
they gotta stretch it out so we will have something to look forward to, thats why we get one or two big names and several little people every yr, and im ok with that. i just wish hey would get their shiot together and stop listing folks that are clearly not rock n roll acts.
can you imagine what would happen if slayer got best new R&B album
of the yr? gezz, the NAACP and al sharpton would freak the hell out and
jesse jackson would go on a whole new crusade. i wonder if we the people cant effectivly protest this? how could we go about it in a constructive way? who could we email or send a petition to?

The only reason people stage any kind of award ceremonies or roasts or anything of that nature is to create opportunity to make money. If it was really about acknowledging people's efforts they could just take a vote, announce the winner in next month's RS and that would be the end of it. No $25,000 plates, no monstrous advertising opps, no DVD sales....

i went to the hof a few years back. it was fun seeing some of the famous guitars there, the les paul log, and a few other cool things. worth maybe 1 trip.

it all changed last year when abba got in. good golly, what are they thinking. and rap and disco- don't get me started.

i won't go back-what a joke.

Big KISS fan here but still love Abba!!

But you're right, the name no longer fits, disco and punk and blues and metal just don't all fit under the genre of "rock." How about the Popular Music Hall of Fame.

And even if they changed the name to that, KISS still wouldn't be allowed in.

Not that I like LLcool, but he was signed to DefJam way back in the day, also the Beastie Boys too. This was really a big step to what we call hiphop today. Mike D has the distinguishable voice that is up there with Axl Rose and and Brian Johnson's voice of AC/DC

as the Beasties say, "There's too many rappers & not enough MC's!!" I couldn't agree more.

OK they arent Rock n Roll, but what is? has anyone looked at the industry lately? How many popular rock n roll bands are left? thats why it has moved to popular music for these awards.

If you look at all of these artists, they are popular because people choose to listen to them, because they were well liked. They were never 'force-fed' to us like today's music :)

I challenge you all to listen to their music because truth be told, the Beasties have allways conveyed good, positive messages in their music for the young & impressionable, in a genre which rife with messages of drugs, gangs and guns etc.. they have survived the 80's, 90's and still going strong because they keep it old school with 'feel good' hip hop and positive rhymes.. I think the 3 MC's and Mix Master Mike (who is a multiple world champion DJ himself!) deserve it all :)

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…What a waste of good lake front property.

I don’t know what brain dead shlup runs that operation but they need hung upside down by their toes with their legs spread apart and taps played on their stones with spoons.

It is supposed to be about music and it’s not; its’ about money….. and I can grantee they will never get a nickel of mine , and that’s all I’m gonna’ say about that

I think the time is long past due for Alice Cooper to get in.

He really spear headed a whole movement as per stage presence.
He really ushered in theatrical stage shows.

Much less deserving people are in.
