Looking for a good accurate tuner for my pedalboard. I can't decide between the Korg Pitch Black or the Boss TU3. Which one is more accurate and would be easy to see under sunny outdoor conditions?

How is the TU2 compared to the newer TU3?

This clip claims the Korg Pitchblack is more accurate than the Boss. It works well for me. Display 4 is great on dark stages!

I've never used the TU3 but I do have a Pitchblack. My only complaint with the PB is that the power in and the power out jacks are reversed (if you put the pedal last in the effects chain).

Korg Pitchblack here.

Though lately it's been the Peterson Strobosoft for Iphone when working on guitars.
£6 very easy, accurate and always in my pocket.

I use the Pitchblack, but I think the TU-3 is probably decent as well. My band played quite a few outdoor gigs this summer and I did not have any problems seeing the tuner. I know the pitchblack is accurate to +/- 1 cent, which is just about as accurate as you can get. You might want to research the TC Electronics Polytune. That looks pretty interesting as well and it is also in the same price range.

But I am very happy with my Pitchblack.

I use TU-2 and Korg (clip on, don't have it handy so I can't tell you which model but it is fairly new). I read on the net that Korg PB is more accurate than BOSS. When I bought the BOSS unit, PB was not available plus it costs more money nowdays.

On the same topic I did compare tunning between the two units that I have and found about 4c(+/-) difference reading from the screen. TU-2 receives the signal from the guitar directly and Korg clip on works with "Piezzo" pickup. My brain could not recognize any difference in the pitch.

I never used the TU-2 unit outdoors so I can't tell you how it works on the sunlight. Korg clip-on has nice LCD display that works perfectly in the sun and for indoors has a back light button. I use Korg more since it is fits in the pocket and I can tune everybody in the jam band very quickly.

Another advantage of the clip-on unit is that you don't need to adjust your guitar controls to get the best accuracy piezzo gets the vibrations (just don't tune when the bass or drums are playing since picks up that too through the floor, serious no kidding).

I found TU-2 works the best with strat when all controls are open at 10 and pickup selector is on the middle.

Hope that helps[/u]

Same price in Sterling than it is in Dollars???
Whatver happened to the exchange rate?

I wonder how Peterson got round the inaccuracies of clip on tuners? I've never used one that I was entirely happy with. If their making the same claims of accuracy with the stroboclip that they do with their other products, they must have worked hard for it to be true.
