I like classic rock and blues and hard rock and rockabilly but i love old country.
I have 2 MANDOLINS .
first up the ibanez.
it was made in October 1981 it is in sunburst finish.
the model is a E-518.
inside the f-hole written in marker it says Pat Fitzgerald.
is this mandolin vintage?

The other one is a Eastwood Mandocaster solidbody electric.
2 single coil pickups and sunburst finish.

My wife is interested in playing mandolin. I have just started looking at them. Does anyone have suggestions on a good starter.

Hi Telemaster,I wouldn't say your mandolin is vintage in the I don't have a listing for an Ibanez 518 model,is there a chance that it is a 513 and you read the number wrong? If it is in fact a 513 it would be worth from$275-$350.The top of the line model the 529 is a copy of the Gibson F5 Lloyd Loar model and is worth about $1,150.BTW I have a mint '67 Kent solid body mandolin with a Jaguar type shape body that was a brute to play when I got it but I removed the neck and shimmed it and now it plays great.

Having a mandolin and knowing how to play it would give me and my boys an excuse to play some Steve Earle.
