If you're playing in a bedroom, Fender Champ, Vox AC4, Marshall Class 5. If you're going for louder, Fender '65 Deluxe Reverb Reissue is great, so is the 59 bassman. I've heard nothing but good things about Egnater amps, I've never played one personally so I can't validate that ^^ Two of the cleanest amps ever made are the old Fender Twin Reverbs and the old Ampeg VT22, they have so much headroom you can't get em to break up without shaking walls. There are many many more to consider, it's all about what kind of sounds you want ^^

If you want headroom Twin Reverb, if not Deluxe Reverb. You can't go wrong with either!

Try a Twin Reverb Custom with a 15" in there, sweet!!!

If you want to stick to 15W try a Blues Jr.,any of the 15 W Vox amps-they make some fabulous modeling amps,Marshall Haze 40 W combo, 15 W head or Class 5.Any of Fender's 15W and up amps are a good choice.

Not the class 5 if you want clean. anything above 4 breaks up. I love the amp but not for clean.

My opinion would be to stay in the SS line before going with a Blues Jr. My experience has been much better with a Studio 85 in the clean channel. I'm not sure what's out there that is along the same lines these days, but an older used 85 series amp (Studio, Eighty Five, Deluxe) should be cheaper and responds well to distortion pedals. They're reliable, less fragile, great at bedroom levels and can be used for small to medium sized gigs.

That's just my opinion. When I did a side by side comparison, the 85 sounded much better to me, the controls felt more solid, better reverb, more headroom in the cleans, more controllable midrange, no tube issues to mess with.

If you want to check out an Egnater, I recommend the Tweaker. I was looking at them and you can get just about any sound you want. If you want to stay with Fender, I use and recommend the Super Champ XD. If your looking for something different, try out Traynor amps. I think they sound great. If you want to stay SS, I played through a Frontman 65R and I thought it sounded pretty good. I don't know your situation but the best thing to do is to get to a store and try as many out as you can and buy what sounds good to you. Trust your own ears. Take your guitar if you can.

I have a 15W pro Junior. It has tons of headroom.....moreso than the Blues Jr. Don't get me wrong, I think the Blues Jr is a great amp, but if you're looking for headroom as to turn it up loud without the amp breaking up and allowing your pedals to do the talking, a Pro Jr. or a Champ would do the trick. Also, if you need, you can tweek the headroom by changing out tubes although in some cases, you'll lose volume. You just have to look around to find what keeps or increases headroom without losing volume or tone.

Check out both Carr amps and Swart AST amps. Both are really nice boutique amps with super clean tone. I've had a chance to meet both of the amp makers in person and they are solid guys with great skill.

It would help to know:
1. Your budget
2. Style of music
3. Where you will use this amp (bedroom playing, or bar band gigs, or Madison Square Garden???)

A used Deluxe Reverb reissue gets my vote, but it might not work for your situation if you are limited to less than $500 and playing detuned nu-metal with a gorrilla for a drummer and you aren't mic'ing your amp.
