So can anyone at Fender confirm or repudiate the rumour that there were a few Vinnie Models made but were destroyed after Fender bought out Jackson??? Whatever anyone thinks about his look  or the sad demise of his career  AND recent history   , his guitar was a unique instrument and made to the highest specs by Mike Shannon! Any help would be nice???!!!

Vinnie is an interesting (hmmm) character in rock history. On the one hand, consider that he was kicked out of Kiss (twice, actually), which is, regardless of whether or not you are a fan, a pretty sweet and high-profile gig. Then he formed his own band, who after splitting with him went on to sell a kazillion CDs as Slaughter (well, the singer and bass player). It would be easy to write him off - especially with the way over-the-top image he cultivated that pretty much over-over-the-topped everyone. BUT, he wrote some absolutely killer tunes, both with Kiss and with the Invasion (the first disc is like a bubblegum pop-metal masterpiece), and in the era of shred he could out-shred almost anyone. Sad that he will be best remembered for the negative, not the positive.
