Is it true that when Fender bought out Jackson, a number of Vinnie Vincent model guitars were in production but were then destroyed as Vinnie wasn't a Fender endorsed player?

he then formed VVI. was actually a pretty darn good guitar player.
now he does a lot of production work and teaches new artists how NOT to get screwed by the music industry.

Is that a guy or a gal? I cannot tell. Let us all not pick on her, I dont like picking on the ladies :? With a name like Vinnie, pink nail polish, a bright pink guitar, eye shadow, eyeliner, mascara, blusher, not to mention the lipstick and the sultry look... Oh, my!

Yeah, thanks for the help guys! :? I was asking about the guitar not a critique on Vinnie's appearance. He admits it was a mistake to do the over the top glam thing. It WAS the mid 80's AND he did it before the likes of Poison and such. Difference was he could play! The question arised because people on the Jackson board claimed there were a number of them destoyed when Fender took over. If comments on Vinnie's look or his alleged questionable ethics could be kept at a minimum and discussion on the guitar history front and centre, it would be appreciated!

It's possible. I know that at one point, Vinnie was endorsing Carvin products. Carvin even built a guitar that looked like the Jacksons only it had Carvin's block inlays instead of the Jackson shark fin inlays and a reverse headstock. It had a Floyd Rose as well. Obviously, Carvin never made that a production model.

Here's a video of him with the Carvin: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZC2LiVhehg

Here's a pic for you:

Actually that never happened! Classic "rock star" story/hype! The pink guitar was painted a more respectable silver flake with purple flake shadow fins. And by all accounts it was/is still his favourite guitar.

Way Cool, if you say you've got a piece of that guitar, then you've been sold up the river sadly. As much chance of buying a piece of the true cross!

The Carvin was his main guitar on the second tour and featured on his instructional video. As he was using Laney amps on the 1st tour, Wasburn also made a VVV but it has only been seen in a photo session the band did before the release of the second album. And like many other artists in that era he also or was approached by Ibanez who ALSO made a VVV for him. That guitar was seen for two seconds in the "Love Kills" video from A Nightmare on Elm Street 4. He runs his hand down the neck with Freddy's glove! Rumour has it that the Ibi and Burn were taken by a disgruntled drummer who played on Vinnie's demos and thought his time was more valuable that what he was payed so he turned up at a gig and "confiscated" the band's gear! This hasn't been proved though. Both the Ibi & Burn were painted white and gold like the Carvin.

actually it did happen. the piece was given to me by a sound engineer friend of mine. i bought nothing.
it happened in either Mich or Ohio if i remember correctly.
we were scheduled to be there but our bus broke down and
we had a 3 day layover in huntington WV.
im in the middle of buying a amp off of his old amp tech as we speak.
there was more than 1 of those guitars built but only 1 pink.
vinny hated that guitar, the pink one but was under contract to use it
in concert and for media sake.
