this is a very important part of this build. the wrong move can be a total failure for the whole project.

Hi Way cool jr,

I have a bit of experience with both of the above.

I agree with Nick, practice on scrap timber is a good way to start and having good templates to work from is a must IMO.

Ceri is the real expert but if you want the Big Hairy method its all pretty much there in my thread in the Strat forums. I'm no expert but will gladly answer any questions you have.

Andy

well to start and most importantly, one of the trem holes is screwed up from the factory. the insert leans forward a great deal putting the trem off line and kinda twisted. so i gotta have the insert pulled out, a dow rod inserted and retapped for the trem. its a stock through body trem
(floyd style). i want to replace the trem as well but have no clues as to what yet. any ideas? i might have to go new on that part but the whole goal of the guitar was to use only used parts.
there is a method to this madness. you got a email addy your willing to share? i have some ideas i want to run across you privately if i may.
i'll go over the goal of this guitar and also see what you think about it. :D

Hi boys: I'm home hot off the plane and ready to stick my oar in if required (though I'm running straight out the door for the evening right this minute).

As you've noticed, I've seen the emails on this and responded there - but might it be fun to discuss this stuff in public here on the Forum? Useful things to discuss that people might be interested in...

Later - C

no actually i want to keep this one under wraps until im done with it. to many inputs gets things confusing and starts to get you rethinking to much. besides, not to sound crappy as i dont intend to be, but theres only 2 folks opinions that i need at this time, however, there will be a pickup discussion for this guitar open forum.

Okely-dokely. Well then supposing I might be one of the two people who's opinions you want I have now sent a longer email with some thoughts. You may or may not like what I'm suggesting...

On the other hand, if I'm not one of the two people who's opinions count - than apologies for blocking your intray!

Good luck - C
