Again--I'm not in the US, so normally I can't enter--the forum has had a couple open outside the US--and I entered those.

I enter ones open to Canadians, depending on what the prize is, and what you have to do to enter.

Recently I won a Strymon Delay pedal on another forum.
It's a very nice pedal.

Google it if you'd like to see it.

Wow, that does look nice.

Do you guys and gals enter all the Fender giveaways? I do sometimes when I see something really cool. Just wondering how many forum users do.

Yes, the Fender promotions if I notice them but I wouldn't recommend any other companies promo's because I made the mistake of entering another companies ( not a musical instrument company ) and now I can't get all of the e-mails and texts to stop. Those other company promotions aren't about whatever the contest is about, they just spread your information around to every psycho organization on the internet.

Hey Solid B, :D I always do the Epiphone give away contest they send me like 3 maybe 4 email a week on new products and news along with give away stuff. Not bad seems to have not shared the info and you can unsubscribe anytime. P.S haven't won though :(

That's why you use a web based email address that you set up for these kind of things.
If it gets swamped with spam, you dump it, and create a new one.

I enter Fender (and others) if it's something I can use and from an organization I know about and that has some sort of info on just how they'll use your name, what advertising, etc. you might expect, etc.

However, I will never enter if a phone number is required ... don't like people calling and that's that. And I always read the fine print to be sure I'm not authorizing anyone to drop by or obligating myself to some trial with something or allowing them to use my name in any context other than if I win the contest.

I also avoid contests that require a date of birth, and other personal info.
Because often the contest is a way to gather info.

I might enter one that asks an age range I'm in, but not my specific birthday.
