Hi Brad.
Normally I would shoot you a PM, but since that system is disabled, and there is not a forum feedback to post in I had to try it this way.

I did not want to do this in the public, so if you want to remove it after you read it, that is just fine by me.

I wanted to make a suggestion for the Fender site.

1) A section dedicated to FSR product runs would be very helpful, and would keep it out of the main pages. It would help sell them if we could see them before we order them and hope it's something we might like.

2) Turn back on the PM system.

If I recall correctly, the PM system has never been enabled since this forum started, so I doubt they will turn on what has never been on from the start...at least for the time being. :)

And I also cannot recall what the exact reason was/is though, as far as whether its a technical matter or a management/legal decision/issue...

PMs would be nice but a classified section would blow the roof off this site.

Bad idea.

Can you imagine the amount of calls Fender get about people whining that their guitar doesnt work properly from people that don't know a jacksocket from a machine head.
Imagine those same people innundating Fender with complaints about used instruments they bought through Fender's website.

Personally I think that PM's and a Classified Section would be a bad idea. We have been fine without them for over 2 years.

I would just like to know how many FSR models are made in and given year and for who.

I don't see why anyone using this site should need private messaging. All it will lead to is a load of administration headaches. It offers nothing except problems. Whatever anyone wants to write, if they cant write it in open view, it's got no place on the Fender Forums.

Why do Fender want tou to buy used gear? They want you to buy new. If Gibson aint got that much business sense I will gladly go and sort the company out for em. All they have to do is ask me.
Even a disclaimer wouldn't stop hordes of idiots jamming up the phone line because their 99MIM didn't have the correct trem tip. How about when things online get ugly because someones been ripped off? Why do Fender want any part in sorting that kind of mess out?

It will do nothing for the forums or the company. There are other sites for that stuff that do it a lot better than Fender ever could.

Seriously. I think Gibson could use your help. Didn't they end up on some kind of a survey as the worst place to work, or something?

They will probably get bought by another company.

Hi, OP here.

I said nothing of a Classified section, and i agree it is not a good idea.

As far as the PM, the Peavey forum has it and they have not had any issues with it, if you abuse it, you get thrown out, just like if you posted it on the open part.
where it is helpful is, say you post that you are looking for say a 52 RI and you can't find one, if I see one on sat e-bay and I want to let you know of it, the only way i can is to post it so everyone can see it. Wile this is good for the seller, it is not good for the buyer.

Also I there is something that is not something related to the forum (like advice for auto repair) a PM is the way to ask someone that can help you.
