That was truly awesome. Couldn't ever be in a band with him though, I'd be too busy watching him to remember to play.

That band encapsulates everything I hate about amateur stage acts:

MC that talked too much about nothing (and severe name dropping of ZZ Top and Texas Motor Speedway in an attempt to get some applause). And he was a poor comedian.

Singer singing what is probably one of his favorite songs...but his voice doesn't suit the song.

Drummer that needs Ritalin. And a bottle of Qualuudes. And a beer. And possibly a butt-kicking.

Two words: Hat Microphone.

Matching outfits. Outside of symphony orchestras, the Beatles and ZZ Top, no bands should wear matching outfits. Ever.

A pretty good guitarist (I didn't lose interest in his playing) trapped with at least two douchebags (drummer and MC). Possibly a third (bassist).

Copping the stage antics (in this case, ZZ Top's synchronized axe swing) of the original band.

It needs to be said again: Hat Microphone.

The fact that these jackasses are probably paid well, since they are a "safe" corporate-event-type of band that plays the songs as they were recorded, instead of putting their own stamp on something.

Tito Puente is rolling around in his grave because of the toilet seat hanging off of the timbales.

In closing: May the Good Lord bless the somewhat good guitarist, and may he find, not only a band that isn't douche-y, but also some songs that match his vocal ability and style.

Rant over.
