Highways (in Canada/Ontario we call roads that you drive 100km/h) stink around Toronto. If you are in the left lane and going 80kn/h you should not be in any lane (meaning you are not suppose to drive at all).

Hey I have new names for our main highways

HWY 401 that goes through the city should be renamed HWY 911 by the number of incidents on the daily basis.

HWY 400 Toronto to Barrie section should be renamed HWY "R We Dead Yet" by the number of horrific rollovers that can put the Indy 500 or (insert your favorite car racing competition) to shame. I think it takes an exceptional talent to roll over a vehicle like that. If some of these drivers did nothing and just preyed during the collision, they would have anded up being better at the end.

HWY 407 Should be renamed to "Highway robbery" this is a toll road that sucks and is also very busy.

End rant, I feel better now 8)

Montreal drivers are seasoned instructors compared to the drivers in NL. It's no small wonder that so many from our province get killed when they venture out of the province-they simply don't know how to drive. I've had people "merge" into my lane doing 80 kmph while I was doing 110 and I've had to lock up my brakes because of this many times. What makes these matters worse is that the passing lane is always occupied by some clown doing the same speed as the inside lane and staying there so you can't pull over to avoid the tool that cut you off. Come to NL if you want to see complete highway lunacy.

You think that's bad, try it on 2 wheel sometime.

I think before anyone is given a license to drive a 5000 pound weapon they should have to ride a motorcycle first.

Imagine dealing with this issue?
Baltimore roads cost drivers an extra $603 per year, report says City's thoroughfares rank tenth worst in country, according to Washington group.A dodged pothole here, an uncomfortable bump there — navigating Baltimore's thoroughfares isn't just a tax on drivers' sanity. Baltimore's roads, which rank tenth worst among the country's large cities, cost drivers an extra $603 per year, according to a report released Wednesday by a national transportation group.

Driving on neglected urban roads — including interstates, freeways and local routes — increases drivers' costs by accelerating wear and tear on vehicles and their tires and upping gas consumption, according to TRIP, or The Road Information Program, the Washington-based transportation research group that released the report. According to the group, 46 percent of Baltimore's roads are in poor condition, almost double the percentage nationwide.

I endorse this post. Best idea I've seen in a while.

I commute about 130 miles daily on a motorcycle. Having an idiot almost kill me is a weekly occurence. Most drivers really don't give a crap about bike riders and I've pretty much decided that women drivers are actually trying to kill me. One month on a motorcycle and everyone will become much better drivers.

The worst place I've ever driven--Dallas. The city is full of drivers whose main goal is to kill anything in front of or beside them.

If you are going from Fort Worth to Dallas, as soon as you cross the Dallas County line (from Tarrant county), everyone's drivng IQ drops at least twentyfive points.

Fort Worth has its bad stretches of road. Austin is congested, but not full of killers. San Antonio is confusing, but not agressive.

Dallas--the Can't-Do City!

My biggest beef is with people who have to constantly have to have their cell phone or text thingy with them while they're driving. At least here in R.I. and now in Mass. it's finally illegal to be texting while driving. I only wish they would make using cell phones while driving illegal also. That and blasting damm Rap music while on the road as well.
Cell phone law goes into effect here on Maryland this October $40 first offense $100 subsequent offenses but it's a secondary law where the officer has to stop the offender for another primary offense in order to site for phone use.
