Welcome to the Forum Awesome John,I saw your videos and lovely guitars and I'm impressed beyond words. I used to do Hendrix tributes also but I'll freely admit that I'm not in your league-who is? I too admire Randy Hanson's playing and his keeping the Hendrix flame burning. You could give Malmsteen a lesson or 2 on humility and as far as I'm concerned you make him sound like he's wearing boxing gloves while he plays.I'm honored to have someone with your passion and love of playing the guitar in the Forum.

Welcome to the Forum, Awesome John. Those are some beautiful guitars. Thanks for sharing them.

At age 23 I got my first break and was one of the first guys to ever do a Jimi Hendrix tribute (aside from the wonderfully talented Randy Hansen) ...

Does this mean that you were the "Purple Fox" ??? Someone using that alias put out one of the first Hendrix Tribute albums (that I am aware of, at least).

Have you ever made a doubleneck Strat?

I am very happy that I wound up here because there seems to be some very nice people here and fellow players. Great to see a forum no over run with that aggressive belittling MTV jackass attitude. There is so much to share and learn from each other. Our art and guitar obsession is exciting enough as is without undue aggression. My pleasure to meet everyone. here!
God Bless...

Malmsteen came to Turkey for a concert and I was the Marshall distributor at the time. His wife was Turkish and I saw how hard he worked to do a great show. I kinda felt bad for him because he was so good it seemed everyone was gunning for him and he felt uneasy with everyone. But I love the guy and respected him and he realized that I was a true fan and we shared some great times together. I bet its really tough being who he is. That why in my approach to the guitar I dont take myself seriously. I goof around more than try to play "unplayable stuff"... I saw he copied my teeth tremolo move... thats cool when Malsteen copies one of your moves :) its like an honor :)

Those pickup are laces custom made pickups, made by Don Lace Jr. Took him a few months to do it.. they are very transparent warm sweet sounding...
here is what they sound like...

Awesome John's Pink Dream Strat Audio Clips

Clean

overdrive

The new owner of the Dream Strat has made an very nice info filled site about it most of the info in there at www.dreamstrat.com its a great guitar. And it opened the door for Fender to really get freaky with wirings and necks and paint jobs and carved tops and 24 frets etc... this guitar was the first of all those developments..
