here are the latest two guitars from my shop...

The first one is called "The Surfcaster" and is a tribute to my obsession with the sport of "surf fishing". I designed the guitar to pay tribute to our number quarry fish named "the striped bass" there is a 15 piece mother of pearl inlay of the beautiful fish that we catch photograph and release. The 120 year old swamp ash has a unique grain that resembles the sand ripples underwater in the surf zone of the beach. The custom "F" hole is the symbolize the waves that the striped bass swims in. The neck has LEDS under the fretboard and fiber optics as side dots and multi leds inside the "F" hole so the guitar is easy to play under dark lights especially for fast passages where one needs to see the fretboard marker to know where they are. 7 pc laminated through necj keeps the guitar "in tune" and eliminate Strat-itis" (dead notes on the thick strings above the 12th fret. Joe Barden Awesome John Model hand Wound pickups give you the strat tone, the fat gibson tone the jackson tone and the İbenez tone in one guitar. The special switching allows for noiseless single coil modes and half power humbucker and full humbucker modes.. (I was doing this for 17 years before the PRS 13 model) Paul Reed Smith saw my custom fender shop custom design guitar with this switching on it and I gues may have been "inspired" that fender custom shop Awesome John guitar (called THE DREAM) designed by yours truly is here www.dreamstrat.com

Here are pics of my surfcaster guitar

Welcome John! Great playing! I'm an avid fly fisherman, would love to try surf casting sometime too. Maybe we'll run into each other on the water or on stage sometime. Peace. :D

Great guitars there John!

You can embedd pictures if you paste links into the message you're creating, then highlight the link and press on the "Img"-button at the top of the menu.

Or, and even easier, you can trigger an already formatted link of the desired image straight from photobucket, and simply paste it into the message.

That way, we can all see your beautiful guitars!

The bottom one turns on the LED under the fretboard and in the body cavity, also the fiber optic side dot lights. The top switch put the guitar into the tele mode where I can get both outside single coils on at the same time and all three at once....

This was the first guitar that I designed that started this genre of through neck multi laminate Strat style guitars.. -> www.dreamstrat.com

sounds like some of us build freaks will be salivating wildly at the idea of illuminated necks! 8)

So the top switch is similar to Fender's S1? cool.

We must be talking the same guy, because that sounds very much like him! He has a very interesting personality! I think he's still in Germany...

Man, this world is a small place. Tiny!

yes but I was using that system a long time ago.. I insisted that they put it on the Dream Strat ( www.dreamstrat.com) and they liked the results so much they started using it on the followup Fender models as well..

My exploits have "inspired" many companies...
Interesting that a guy stuck in turkey could be all over the place with these companies ey? but such is the result of the gear head obsession.. plus I was a partner in Turkeys number one distributor so I would go to Namm and Tennessee and have meetings with them all and "nudge them" into upgrading their designs.. I got EMG to start using the "click on " computer connector type of attachments to create their no solder pickup mounts. I had many long meetings and phone calls with my friend Pat Cummings at Brain Moore and inspired him to build a "all wood" through neck guitar which became his greatest selling guitar so far.... I got Digitech to put tubes into their GSP21 machine to create the gsp2101 series.. it starts with "planting an idea" into their heads and in time at a meeting they will "come up with it"

Many more like that... dont want to rant.... but I drove them all nuts until they finally tried what I was suggesting then they kept it in their line of products.. Because Im not a businessman I was not after money or even glory I just wanted a better mouse trap to use myself as a player.

Thank you brother...

Thanks very much everyone for your warm welcome...

I was checking out the web for an amp an just loved the way the Deizel Schmidt amp sounded.... just the kind of tone I am looking for only problem is its $4000.... jeez... talk about overkill....

I might have to make my own amp too.. because those kind of A class 30 watt dual EL34 amps "even with boutique transformers" dont cost more than 500 dollars to build... 4k is way too much.. but boy does it sound beautiful!

I will stick with a Cyber Twin ... my guitars sound sweet through any tube amp and a 4k amp I dont need... but boy does it sound sweet :) I'm screwed here cause I am getting all amp happy again... no I will not pay 4 k, guess Im safe cause I dont have it,, gave it for my sons school tuition.... this amp search is driving me nuts...

I have a great rig now except its getting old and no longer reliable especially on live TV shows, and its a killer to transport ( I aint getting any younger :( ) so a nice cost effective cyber twin seems like the answer... but boy did that deizel Schmidt amp sound sweet man...

4K? jeez... thats crazy... 2 k okey but 4 k is nuts...

Awesome

I have a few PDF files on amp design. 2 el34, class A shouldn't be that hard. It's all the preamp controls that present the dificulty. I have been thinking about a Dumble clone. That may be well worth your attention. I just want to see why everyone goes mad for em.
http://www.schematicheaven.com/dumble.htm

If you want to email me at nikininja@ntlworld.com

I'll gladly share the pdf files with you.

Yep, I hear you on that.

I too intend to make myself a little amp. Just for home recording. Playing in front of others scares that crap out of me! It's the next project on the list.

Nikininja's a top chap. You can't go far wrong with him help'in out. 8)

Thanks again for the pics.... they're awesome, Awesomejohn!
