After a hole lot of people (bad and good) get shoot. It is a tricky idea which is no good in political circles.

Seriously, to reply to the original post, I agree that the current registry is waste of money. You all know how government works, it's all about a quantity. The idea of gun registry has roughly many points in which 3 are good idea and analyzed properly and the rest are the "filler".

You take care of yourself and your own ...

Hey Nevin, write a song about this..

Maryland has it's own type of stupid registry. For each handgun sold in Maryland since 2000 the manufacture has to supply a spent shell casing fired from that handgun so they have a ballistic finger print. In 2005 even the state Police said they wanted to stop it, politicians didn't. Now here it is ten years later it has never solved or matched a weapon to a crime at a cost of at start 2.5 million per year and now over 4million a year.
Someone should tell politicians its not hard to change a casing finger print anyway. Anyone who knows how to take apart there firearm and clean it can do so. Replacing a fire pin and just age and use will do so as well.

I believe the state of New York has the same bullsh## with the same results.

The breech face and the extractor/ejector also contribute to matching a spent case to a specific firearm.

In the case of a .45 auto or a 9mm Beretta, merely dump the entire slide and barrel into the Chesapeake, buy new parts from Numrich Arms or Brownell's, and the punk or gangbanger is back in business.

Not too many politicians are members of Mensa I'm afraid......

My point exactly if you can take it apart to clean it, you can be change it.

What a load of crap.

MPs voted to save the gun registry, with enough New Democrat MPs voting with the Liberals and Bloc Québécois to scrap a Conservative private member's bill aimed at killing the 15-year-old federal program.

The vote was tight, with 153 MPs voting in favour of a motion introduced by the House public safety committee to scrap Tory MP Candice Hoeppner's bill, compared with 151 voting against the motion, which would have kept the bill alive.

Now to waste more of MY TAX MONEY on this load of $@!&. #$@*&!% spineless government.
Now you have to find out who where the last couple votes swayed and what kind of payoff they got for there districts they represent. That will really P you off with the tax money that cost.

Sleep tight! Nobody will ever be shot again! No more crime, we are safe now. Good thing they voted to keep it everyone knows we would have all been shooting each other by now if they scrapped it.
