I was just pickin' at ya...but seeing BB now would mainly be seeing a legend no matter what he played or didn't play.
back in the day like you said,his playing was minimal most of the times,but it was the feeling that he put into his few notes that made his guitar Lucille sing,he once said one of the best compliments he ever got was in a write up about a performance that said,"BB sings and then Lucille sings",he said that was what he was trying to do with his playing.
I'll never forget seeing him for the first time and hearing one of those bending notes that just rang out with emotion...I thought,man...that's really B.B.King up there! :shock:
Not many guitarists can bring that on with 1 or 2 notes.

[quote="texasguitarslinger"]Well, B.B. King's coming to town in a couple of weeks..............[quote]
Kept putting off seeing Les Paul at his regular Monday night gig here in NYC. Six months before he died the opportunity rose again and I seized
it. Found myself seated smack dab in front of him, less than three feet away. Helluva payback for a procrastinator. His skills a pale shadow of his former self, he was still the man, and I was there to pay my respects and say "thanks''. Go see BB!

Speaking of legends...FYI in the NYC area.....Chuck Berry is scheduled for New Year's Eve, and Johnny Winter will being doing about 8-10 shows early in 2011 both at BB King's club . Suggest you get online and check out the dates.

You know,it's not just seeing B.B. or maybe missing him forever,like people have mentioned,there's others that have passed and then there's no other chance.
For me the biggest regret other than not seeing SRV,is I missed a one and only chance to see Rory Gallagher at a small venue in Nashville,I just didn't sieze the opportunity thinking I would get another chance....but I didn't.
If one of your favorites is near... go!
There might not be another time for them or you.

Well, I was talking to a couple of my friends earlier tonight at a blues gig (they let me sit in) about it. They pointed out that I'm not completely without connections and there may be a chance that if I explain my situation and ask around a bit there's a reasonable chance I could get on the guestlist. I might try that, I don't have anything to loose. I hate asking for favors, but it's my best chance at being able to go. I'm trying not to get my hopes up just yet though. :)
