Well, B.B. King's coming to town in a couple of weeks. I like B.B. King, but I've a lot of negative reviews of him live in recent years. Carolyn Wonderland is opening for him, and I really like Carolyn Wonderland. It's also going to be on the expensive side, over $100 for me and my Dad for tickets alone. So I'm not sure what to do. On one hand I'd really like to see B.B. King and I don't know how many more chances I'll get, and I already know I'm going to enjoy seeing Carolyn Wonderland. On the other hand it's really expensive and I want to see B.B. King play guitar, not just talk. I'm totally torn, I can't decide what to do. :?

Texas, I saw B.B. in 69 and he is great, Carolyn would be a treat to see, money honey is a tune I am in the middle of ( last night I missed Deftones/Alice In Chains at Northerly Island for that same reason ), so a DVD of B.B. and Carolyn could be the alternative. The choice is yours little sister and I know you will make the best one because my two little sisters up here always have ( probably the reason I'm still around  ).

I'd never pass up a chance to see one of the few remaining living lengends of blues guitar.Let's face it B.B. is getting up there in years and he won't be around forever.I'd go see him at $200 a ticket.

The dude is close to 90!. He talks.. A LOT, but his stories have always been part of the show. Go see him now, 'cause you will be kicking yourself if he kicks the bucket a couple days after the gig.

Well, it looks like I may be out of luck. When I was looking at tickets a couple of weeks ago I could have gotten two seats on the floor for about $150. Now it's sold out and the only other alternative is buying from a ticket scalper and paying almost double. The cheapest decent seats I've been able to find are about $135 each! I passed up on Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood for that. (Although the seats for Eric Clapton were in the nose bleed section and the ones for B.B. King are a lot closer.)

I should have made up my mind two weeks ago, but I was still debating it and I thought the price was high then. I don't know if it's even still a possibility now. I'm going to have to figure something out quick before the prices go any higher. Someone needs to slap me for being so stupid and waiting this long to think about it. :x

Go with low expectations and you'll be really surprised. He doesn't play like he used to but he's still great. I saw Les Paul at the Iridium Jazz Club twice and never regretted it. I also got to photograph Les a few months before he passed away. He was incredible both times I saw him. No, he didn't play the same as he did years ago, but it was still a joy to experience such a musical legend. Don't worry about reviews.

If you can afford it I say go for it, BB won't be around forever... I wouldn't spend that money on Clapton :) BB is still worth every penny! If only Albert King, Albert Collins, SRV were still alive today... you still have the chance to see BB today, you don't want to be saying "if only..." I'm so glad he's still out there performing! I've seen him numerous times, it is always a pleasure to see BB's band in action!

go for it, if you can. i saw him in concert with my dad and a couple old biddies. (my two aunts   ) i loved it, it was a good show. it's obvious Blues Boy King is gettin' up there in years, but he can still play that guitar with passion.
