+1

IMHO Jimi Hendrix wrote/made the best music ever.

For me, his music is timeless.

Andy

For those who haven't seen it yet - - the Bio channel is still running episodes of the Hendrix documentary with some great footage of never released performances :

I'll spend the whole day tomorrow playing the music of my mentor on guitar,on the stereo and DVDs.Jimi had such a profound influence on my playing that I will always be indebted to him,he truly transended guitar playing past, present and future-a true innovator and vanguard of a Renaissance in guitar playing.

I remember the night when the news came out about his death that some hippie,I never knew who, parked a van in a church parking lot on the main street of the town I lived in,with the words painted on the side "A Great Man is Dead,Jimi Hendrix".
I never saw the van again since that night where it sat for everyone to see.

Thanks for everything you gave us, Jimi.

I remember where I was when I found out. I was in my room playing my dads Martin D28, I just put it back in the case and staired at it.
